03' Cobra vs. 03' Mach 1

Which one is better and why? Im lookin at gettin one of these, I have driven both of them and love them both equally. Now down to the line I wanna know which one can be modded more, which is faster stock, handling if its any different between them, etc... Also I assume the Cobra has more aftermarket support, but just from the test drives they seem fairly equal. I can go either way, I just would like to have the one with the advantage stock and aftermarket wise. Thanks.

Oh yeah how does convertible cobra affect the speed and performance compared to a coupe cobra.

get the cobra, a lot more power for your mod money, 1500 and you get almost 500RWHP it would take a lot more money to get that power out of the mach. Also the cobra had a 6 speed the mach has a 5 speed or auto, cobra has forged internals and a supercharger.. The cobra is faster stock and mod for mod. you test drove both of them and couldnt tell the cobra was faster (somethings wrong with you or the cobra or the mach is modded)

Well, to start with the Cobra has a 45 hp advantage stock, & what can you say about a vert? you either want or you don't. With only a few mods the Cobra is an easy 450 hp car & to be able to cruise to your favorite place w/the top down & the supercharger whinning on a summer night with a breeze in your face is hard to match. Now that is not to say the Mach is a bad ride I just happen to be partial to supercharged verts.

cobra BOTTOM LINE the only thing in my mind that mach has over cobra is solid rear but you really need that if your going to be launing and what not but you can always beef up the irs which ever floats your boat but the terminator forget about approx. 390 horses out the gate port the eaton new pulleys, idler intake and exhaust and you looking at well over 450 horses or just go stupid with it and whipple it OMG [:D] pure devastation my friend

and to answer your question about the diffrence between vert and coupe the vert weighs about 200-300 pounds more than the coupe that alot of unneeded weight get a coupe that way you weigh you less than a vert and you dont have to worry about the leak and alignment problems that some 99-04 convertables have and yes this includes gt's v-6 and the cobra and remember that weight diffrence is a couple of tenths off your time

Thought the machs came with 310 the cobras got 390=80hp difference could be wrong go with the cobra though

Man I am still tripping on the fact that he test drove both and could not tell the difference?!?!?! Any way. Cobra 390 HP, IRS = better ride, 6 spd. and More Exclusive. Mach 1 is a bad @$$ car. But the Cobra got it beat hands down. No questions. But will cost more $$$$. IF you are not going to drag race the car, you can't beat the IRS Cobra's. Go with the Cobra man. Still Can't believe you could not feel the difference!?!?!

i love mach's the shaker is cool and the interior is so sexy however just the whine alone on a cobra is the sexiest thing of all MAYBE thats it maybe you just didnt take her into boost

The Cobra I test drove was a convertible and the mach was a 5-speed and im pretty sure it was modified. Did the Cobra come with a rear solid axle? I would prefer that over the IRS but its not that big of a deal. What is the price range for an 03 Cobra, I see them ranging from 20,000 to 27,000. Also what years didnt they make the Cobra? This way I can avoid the fake Cobras. I have seen them from every year from 99-2004 and if I remember right they didnt make them in 2000-2002 but not completely sure.


What parts do I need to get 500RWHP for the $1500 that was stated earlier?

Cobra's with the supercharger were made in 03-04 only.

Mods to=500rwhp

Stiegeimier ported blower
2.7-2.9 upper pulley
Mid-pipe, catback
CAI
Idler pulley
That will give you 500 rwhp

P.S. you can build up the IRS

the terminator comes with a irs which can handle better than the mach's solid rear and you really dont need to worry about the rear unless your going to be doing some launching um lets see.. they did make a cobra in 2000 the cobra but they are pricey ranging from 45-60 k and hard to find (only 300 were made) they did not make a cobra in 02 dude trust me get the cobra they take mods so much better and if not sure if its a real terminator get the vin and give svt a call. p.s if you find a 03-04 cobra for only 20k call me LOL cause where im from they range from 25000- 35000

Cobra hands down. cost a little more but you get a lot more. by the time you bought a mach 1 and put mods just to equal the cobra you spent more money and its still not a cobra. and if you can find an 03 or 04 cobra for 20k something is terribly wrong with it

So is the Cobra the best 03/04 Mustang edition hands down? Im seeing that a Stage 3 Roush is 0.2 seconds faster 0-60 stock for stock. Im just about hooked on the Cobra, I just dont wanna get one edition and wished I had got the other for some reason or another. Either way Im excited.

A roush mustang is not faster than a 03-04 cobra stock vs stock.
Get the cobra hands downs no regrets. its a machine. that why they call it the terminator

Im just going off of www.car-stats.com it says its faster 0-60, same 1/4 mile and 1/4 mile speed though.

And by the way I have found an 03 Cobra for 19K but its around 450 miles from me, so dont know if thats a possibility for me or not.

personally i would go with the 03 Cobra over the Mach 1
