they should have gone independent in the rear to really compete and you know that car isnt going for 45k people are paying well over 100k for it straight off the line

BullittJim -> RE: The new GT500 (7/19/2006 9:06:35 PM)

I think its a slight blunder for ford not to make this car more to compete with the corvette, definetly put in more aluminum parts to lighten it up, personally I just think 2tons is a bit heavy for a muscle car, but, it is still sweet either way.

trevman2 -> RE: The new GT500 (7/20/2006 3:09:46 AM)

I've seen them going for 15-20K over MSRP, but I dont think anyone in their right mind would pay 100K for one. I think Ford got too much negative feedback from the hardcore Mustangers with the IRS in 99-04 Cobras and wanted to please their core enthusiasts that would be the primary buyers of this car. If not for the a$$raping on the "dealer adjustment", I would have one...

beastzilla02 -> RE: The new GT500 (8/1/2006 6:36:35 PM)

if its going for 100 grand..dealers shouldnt be able to mark up the price that much.

solid rear = better takeoffs = better drag times . . .

most ppl like that

That Shelby is a sweet ride, but I have some complaints. 1) it weighs too much 2) too many creature comforts that aren't options. Scrap down all the unnecessary things, put them in as options if your willing it spend more and use more alluminum in order to save some weight. In my opinion the perfect thing would be to offer a Shelby drivetrain in a stock GT body for like $ 35 000. Is anyone with me on this?
