Im 16 and the big thing to do right now is to soup up ricers, almost all my friends have them. well i got a 65 stang w\ a 302 making about 400 hp and i love 2 see their faces when i blow them away off the line every time. those ricers are no match for real muscle. I go out crusing just looking 2 race those japanese pos's. I want peoples opinion on ricers and why the hell do people like them so much!
I think you will find that all on this section have no love for Ricers. However, please take some advice from an old man, and do not street race. I have no idea what you have for an engine, etc., but to have 400 horses at the flywheel is a lot of car for a young one like you to handle. Even we old guys who have been driving powerful cars for years only race at the race track.
Ans you know that the guys driving the 40"s and 50's cars when they were new hated us driving our muscle cars.

Two symptoms of riceomonia are street racing and claiming that your car has more HP than it does. How are you making that HP and why are you trying to prove to your 4cylinder Honda friends that you can beat them with an 8cylinder car?

people like them because they are cheap, and get good mileage, and they are highly customizable. now granted, about 98% of all ricers have a stock engine, and 100% of all ricers think they are the shiznit.
I was coming back home today after a trip to San Antonio in my 03 Mach, and was maintaining a constant legal speed of 70 MPH in the next to the far left lane on I-10. Anyway, a ricer in a cheap chevrolet something with a fart can out the back came around me rapidly, then revved down to let me hear his fart can. I just smiled. My wife said, "WTF was that all about?" I assured her that it was just a kid with stickers and things, but no power like you are sitting in. So, it's not just Japanese built cars that are riced out.
Hrrrmmm, do you guys consider European cars to be "imports"? I mean, they are imported, they just aren't slow, stupid, plastic pieces of junk.
i dont, because they are more expensive then american cars.
import - japanese asian cars european cars - european sport cars american - the best of the 3
Best in what way Atom? Best bang for the buck, or from a performance standpoint? If you read enough reports, you will quiclkly see that Japanese and European cars are built better, perform better, have less break-down time, and last longer than American built cars. However, you might want to check into just how many American cars are actually running American built only parts. You will be shocked to realize that there are very few truly Amierican built cars today. Sure, I have all Fords in my driveway, but that is because they are cheaper than the overseas counterparts. But there is a reason for that. They just aren't built as well. I have owned BMW's, Mercedes and Honda's and Toyotas. I still like my rattle trap Mustangs though.

I'm stilll waiting to hear how a 16 year-old built (and keeps from wrecking) a 400 hp small block...
Me too.
Lets call Riply's Believe it or Not
I'm 20, and I'd be surprised if I didnt wreck that car by now. All young people think they know everything and are the badest on the planet, me included, but I realize this so I think it gives me an upper hand. I am just waiting for life to smack my young a$$ into reality

best in my opinion, but really, you get what you pay for, if you buy a really inexpensive american built car, its probably going to have more problems then a import at the same price. i guess most american built cars have a better resale value in the longrun.
