They are fun while they last, and even a low 12 is enough to scare most people and beat 98% of the cars out there.. just watch out for the 2% that are alot faster than 11.9
out of curiosity, how much $$ does he have in the CRX? I know the body was cheap, how much has he spent on it? Everything included, tires, wheels, everything?

the dyno sheets are at my dads bodyshop and if i ever see those 2 civics ill give them a good beatdown. they can try to spray their way past me but when they run out of nitrous and their turbos break their nothing more than grociere getters!
first, nice quote job. second, spell check. and third, these two civics WILL blow you away and MAYBE one sprays. both are single turbo 2.2's (i guess that's the size), fully done motors (internals, cams cranks, ect) and both pull damn good. for someone who has DYNO sheets at his fathers BODY shop ( maybe it's just me?) i still haven't seen anything. plus, dyno racing is just ghey. go to a track and show me a time slip. there was someone here a while back who claimed 600+ hp cobra and only ran a 12.20. you wanna make a claim that you are fast do it the right way go to a track and run there.

Possibly $3-5.000. It was a used turbo kit and he just sent off the turbo to be rebuilt. AFRs on the car are a little rich (but who the hell wants to run lean...esp in a turbo honda). Just good tuning and good wheels/tires. The car and chassis are pretty sound. He beats on this thing daily and it hasn't given him any issues. Of course...he has the willpower to drive like a normal human being most of the time as well.

who?? i see rice haters, THUMPIN455 is interested in the price because in the longrun, his ricebox costed more then his stang and his stang is faster. they spend too much money to get there car fast and we spend less money to get our cars faster.

We learn to appreciate all cars out there no matter the cause. At the end of the day we all have the same hobby. Some go fast, some show, some cruise, etc etc etc...but we all like to work on our cars.

it's a mustang enthusiast forum. anyone can come here as long as they're not a troll. we're not rice lovers by any means, but we are interested in how they get that much power out of such a small motor and get that to run 11's-12's without falling apart. just cause there is a dislike for a certian type of person, a ricer, doesn't mean we don't like the cars themselves (before the ricer gets to it). it's more the personality of the MAJORITY, not all, import drivers. we have many import and non mustang owners here and they are all respected.

Used parts work and restraint lets things live longer. He did it on the cheap if thats all there is in it. Not too shabby, but not everyone can do it. If they could more would right? We got 11.7s from $5k, bracket raced it for 7 years at 12.1-12.0 always ran it in street trim. Slowed it down because it didnt have a cage. Plenty more in it but wanted to be safe, very mild combo, just a large engine in a 3500lb car. More than one way to skin a cat, isnt there? Keep me posted, I wanna know how long it goes between repairs.. Always curious, because the import guys I know are always breaking when they run faster than 12.2

talk is cheap kid. just a picture of the engine wont due, i could post a pic of my engine and say is is bored .030 over with BB cylinders, alum heads, and all this other jazz. im calling BS on this unless you have proof.

that's something to be proud of! did you put it on the refridgerator?
oh, and when you are out on the street and decide to race and you so much as tap into anyone i know, i will break several bones in your body. how old are you dude? have you not read some of the replies? racing on the street is DUMB and DANGEROUS! how many people will you kill if you hit a car head on that's going 50 mph and you're doing 100+ in your "400" hp car?
english 10, meaning 10th grade? you have many things to learn youngin. grow up a bit and try again later. make sure not to race on the streets anywhere near my family, as i am VERY protective of those i love.
He has had his fair share of issues. When the kit was originally installed the tech squeezed the oil feed line for the turbo between the trans and engine block. (dont ask me how...lol) So he had to have it rebuilt. They have all been petty issues though.
He has a new block at the shop and is getting it built up to take more boost. This will jack up his costs but his CRX will be faster. His goal is to break the 10s with a daily driver.
Oh and Atom, my toy (ie race car/street beasty) is a Pontiac.. a 79 Formula Firebird. It used to have a mild 455 in it, hence the 455 in my name. Now it has a somewhat larger more expensive engine, its no longer low buck and now its 3100lbs and runs low tens. Well it does when i actually go somewhere to run it..lol..

The Formy isnt all that special or desirable since it wasnt a 400 4 speed car. So its a race car. Hell I have like 25-30 cars, only chevys are trucks and only one actually has a chevy in it..I hate them with a passion.. Come to think of it, i better get the F150 running, so i need to go work on it some.. nice chattin today!

eeewwww mopars.. icky! my entire family loves mopars.. I am the only sane person I am related too! Oh and my slowest is a full second faster than the fastest mopar in the family.. hehe!.. We do have some cool mopars though, a 69 and a 70 Charger, a 70 Challenger 340 that belong to my brothers.. I like GTOs, got 3 now. a 65, a 70 and a 72. I prefer them over anything else.. but I think the Cougar will get in the shop before the 70 GTO does... they both need restos, but the Cougar was my first car.. I need to do it.
Strange.. every car I mentioned is above going up in value. I wonder what Civics and Accords will be worth with body kits in 20-30 years... interesting isnt it?

$25,000 in mods, how the hell did you pay for it all at 16? you must have an awesome job or daddy is loaded. either way, nice setup, when im 30 i hope to have about half those mods, but im only shootin for 300hp.
