QUESTIONS!
1) How do I get the price?
-- As you may know, Saleen will not allow us to post a discounted price. Please PM us at texashotrods, email sales@texashotrods.com or call us directly 915-593-6225. I will also give the pricing info to Hot Rods n' Booze, Amanda, and tripsevn. If you get our phone system leave us a message! It seems like when we have group buys like this our phones get overwhelmed. We WILL get back to you!
2) Is this everything I need to install?
-- Everything including instructions! It's all in one box!
3) What if I want THR to install?
-- We will offer special discounted INSTALLATION and DYNO TUNING for those of you who want to bring it to THR to install. We install what we sell, isn't that the only way it should be done? :)
4) How soon should I get the supercharger?
-- Right now the production completion date is July 26th. The THR group buy, according to Saleen, will be ready 7-10 days after that. It's a quicker turn around than a Procharger, and well worth the wait!
5) Where does my Supercharger come from?
-- Directly from Saleen Inc. in Cali. THR is a Master Distributor of Saleen. Check out our own personal Series VI we've listed on the forums.
6) Will this Supercharger ruin my motor?
-- NOPE! Saleen is conservative, and at about 9psi even stock engine won't have issues.
7) So what if I want to upgrade more than the Supercharger?
-- Give us a call! We'll extend discounting on ALL parts to Mustang Forums customers.
We're so excited to work w/ Mustang Forums. Thanks for giving us the opportunity and feel free to contact us with any questions!

Brute03 07-19-2006, 01:16 PM sounds interesting, price?
mylongvictor 07-19-2006, 01:20 PM Are they a roots type blower or screw? I can't tell the difference. Looks kinda small. Anyone know whats the max power output of one of those blowers?

do you people even read?
LvGordo 07-19-2006, 01:22 PM a whopping 4psi? can you pulley these things to make it worth while?
Brute03 07-19-2006, 01:24 PM crap! I totally missed that part, i'm too busy picturing it under my hood :D
Blck98GT 07-19-2006, 01:28 PM haha.. i missed that too..
sstang 07-19-2006, 01:35 PM Anybody know what kind of power do they make with 4 psi? Can they be pulleyed to 12 psi?
Miliock 07-19-2006, 01:36 PM not sure what they do on the 2Vs, but on the 3Vs at 4 PSI they are over or around the 400 rwhp mark.
mylongvictor 07-19-2006, 01:40 PM Hey yall. I just called them. I don't think they'd be too happy if I posted the price publicly. But I must say....... WOW! Deffinatley worth to jump on it. But for those that are like me that are trying to think of a cheaper alternative to a KB 1.7. Hmmmmm. I'm going to wait and do my research a bit. I need to be 100 percent sure I can pull at least 11 psi from this unit and have her give my baby 450 or more horses.
But trust me. The ammout you save is well worth it. Enough dough to either buy you a Nitrous kit and add another 150 shot of Go Baby Go Juice. And on top of that change out your exhuast.
wwmost 07-19-2006, 01:41 PM 4psi![sm=laughat.gif]
tripsevn7 07-19-2006, 01:47 PM as with any blower, you can do a pulley swap to increase boost, thus increasing power. the saleen blower is positive displacement which equals instant boost.
ASUSMC 07-19-2006, 01:48 PM PM me the price my e-mail isn't working.

4psi![sm=laughat.gif]
If 4psi is all it takes for me to get to 400. and 9 psi takes me to 450. I'll buy.
98GTpony 07-19-2006, 01:49 PM sometimes i hate having a sn95[&o]
ShadowDrake 07-19-2006, 01:59 PM Oh snap. I've been waiting for this. :D
The Series IV is a ROOTS design, it will produce 4 psi with the factory pulley. There is someone on the forums who has one, and he says it's a miracle he is above 400 RWHP with it. I believe there's something salvagable about the blower though and if I can max out the factory short-block with it, and the price is competitive, I'll be all over this. e-mailing to get a price now. :D
ASUSMC 07-19-2006, 02:19 PM Can someone please PM me the price. I cannot make personal phone calls at work and my e-mail is down.
Thank you in advance
mylongvictor 07-19-2006, 03:11 PM I wish I have more knowledge on this bower. :-( ANd I wish KB would have the same deal! The day the cut prices of a 1.7 kb down to the mid $3,000.00 and the 2.2 blowzillas down to what the 1.7s are now! I tell ya, I would skeet in my pants and divorce my wife if I had one at that point!. And smash every car headlight in my neighborhood!
The02GT 07-19-2006, 03:13 PM Price is great! Would 4 psi even get you too 400 RWHP?? And i know this is going to sound dumb but do these superchargers have a "blow off" sound like turbos do??
mylongvictor 07-19-2006, 03:30 PM ORIGINAL: The02GT
Price is great! Would 4 psi even get you too 400 RWHP?? And i know this is going to sound dumb but do these superchargers have a "blow off" sound like turbos do??
No it doesn't sound like turbos. Not to dissapoint you. The Cent superchargers are the only blowers that need a blowoff valuve I think. The manifold mounted blowers don't need them. But even then, it doesn't have distinct *ping* kinda sound to it. Which I think is annoying anyway.
mustang_montana 07-19-2006, 03:45 PM centris use bypass valves, roots/screw blowers usually have a built in bypass. all turbo/blowers need some sort of bypass, unless running real low boost.
2k1gt 07-19-2006, 03:49 PM The price is amazing guys. I only wish I could have started working earlier in the summer so I could have the money right now to get this damn thing. :(
mylongvictor 07-19-2006, 03:53 PM I'm kinda confused as to the kit setup.... THe upper intake arm.... It kinda extends out... I wonder if this system will still accept aftermarket CAI.
ASUSMC 07-19-2006, 03:59 PM Does anyone know how long this deal is going to last??
sstang 07-19-2006, 04:16 PM The 400 rwhp was for the 3V's. So I guess that puts 2V's right around the 360 rwhp mark.... which is actually awesome for only 4 psi. OMG, what would 12 psi do!?!?!?!?! If someone would PM me the price, I would sure appreciate it.
The02GT 07-19-2006, 04:18 PM Its not going to last long i can tell you this much. I want it so bad...... I cant stop thinking about it
nopropslaw 07-19-2006, 04:48 PM what all is included in the kit?
mylongvictor 07-19-2006, 05:10 PM I just got an email back! 129.00 for an upgraded pulley to come with the kit that adds around another 40 to 50 horses. The entire kit should come with everything you need. When its all said and done your engine will look very similar to that of a S281 Saleen. The only draw back to this kit that I can see...... What about the CAI? I not a big fan of the rubberised design of it. And I don't know of anything else that can be done with that. BUt the pulley upgrade will run you up to 9 psi. I think. So you are looking at a blower that is compareable to that of a KB. Although IMO I still think even the 1.7 KB will blow this blower away.
But with a FULL BOLT ON GT, and Fordged internals, and Cobra Fuel Pump, I'm willing to bet you can exceed the 475rwhp mark. I'll give it a few days thought.
ShadowDrake 07-19-2006, 05:10 PM ORIGINAL: nopropslaw
what all is included in the kit?
Everything! I have done a lot of research on the Series IV blower and can answer any questions anyone may have. You can PM them to me and I'll post the questions and answers here in the thread as well as reply to you.
I hope THR will extend this long enough for me. I'm trying to sell my 01 V10 excursion right now, after it's sold I'll have the funds freed up to be able to jump on this deal... I don't want to let this one pass me by [:@]
Edit: Just to give everyone an idea of the power output of this blower, it's PERFECT for a GT with stock internals, when you max out the boost and go with all the bolt-ons (pretty much just exhaust), you'll be at the limits of the stock internals... 425-450 RWHP. For the price, it's very nice too. Good to get for now, then if/when you rebuild your shortblock with forged internals you can add a 100-125 shot of the juice on top of this and be maxing out your new short block, while it's all very affordable.
so1o2k3 07-19-2006, 05:25 PM Dammit, why can't they just extend this deal for hmm...let's say 9 months :D

The cooler is similar to that of the 03/04 Cobras. It sits in a bath of coolant just below the blower itself.

The02GT 07-21-2006, 05:14 PM i am still thinking about this!!! The guys in theis thread said it wont clear the hood (its a yr old) http://www.mustangforums.com/m_556282/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm#562356
ShadowDrake 07-21-2006, 07:29 PM Price PM's sent up till now, gonna take a break from it, I've easily sent over 20 PM's now [8D] If you want the price, do like I did and e-mail THR!
02GT, the guy in that thread who said it wouldn't fit under the stock hood was one of the guys who came in here asking if it would fit. Birdieman has some credit, but I do believe it will fit under the stock hood. It's a small blower. The Series V however, very likely not, but Saleen designed the Series IV kit for a stock 2v GT and when I was e-mailing them a while ago about it they said the kit has everything you need, nothing extra is necessary (meaning no need for a new hood).
ironh19 07-21-2006, 09:01 PM Ok I was wondering before I make my final decision, what kind of MPGs are we looking at, would I be forced to use premium gas, and do I have to tap into the oil pan for this kit?
The02GT 07-22-2006, 02:04 AM Ok guys i am tired of looking around trying to find pics but does anyone know where i can get pics of a complete install or pics of EVERYTHING that comes with the kit????????? I still dont understand how the heat exchanger and intercooler works on these cars!!! mhelp me out!
EDIT: just found some new info - So does the heat exchanger act as a raidator and a external water pump pushes the water through that and then to the intercooler which is mounted right under the s/c and the air from the s/c blows over the intercooler???????? Did i get that right? I would still like more pics if possible though! And what the small external mounted tank for? a resivior?
texashotrods 07-22-2006, 02:40 AM NEW NOTE GUYS!
Saleen told us that we need to get in the order by this upcoming Friday in order to hold stock (Saleen will hold them for THR if we have enough orders). Please get your orders in this week so we can have these superchargers available for you!
You are welcome to contact us anytime this weekend/throughout the week directly at 915-449-6224 (BRIAN). We can give you in depth info on these chargers, answer any questions you may have!
We've had some great response so far from everywhere as far as Canada and Puerto Rico, thanks everyone! I just want to make sure we don't run out of stock on these. If there are any people who haven't received a PM, send us one directly to texashotrods. Thanks again for the interest!
Would anyone be interested if we put a coupon code on www.TexasHotRods.com for the special price? If we did this we could actually have all your orders right there and trackable off the site directly. Our system automatically sends messages and tracking info. Let me know and I'll get the code up for Mustang Forums members.
Thanks!
Lizzie
texashotrods 07-22-2006, 03:02 AM It's about 1-2 less mpgs, yes you need to use premium gas, and NO you do not need to tap the oil pan to install.

you can use the t/b last i checked, and the boost gauge gets tapped into any intake vacuum line. you should see at least 350 at the wheels.
The02GT 07-24-2006, 03:01 PM I want this kit but they need to extend it another week!!!
I called and spoke with Brian at THR today and got answers to most of my questions. He said that it is an 8psi and that the optional pulley would take it to 12psi.
The02GT 07-24-2006, 09:18 PM Thats what i thought stock boost IS 8 psi
texashotrods 07-25-2006, 02:25 AM Hi Guys!
We've had such a great response that we are at the next discount level that we quoted in the first quotes (those of you w/ only one price in the PM, that's the price)! Thanks so much for making this a great buy so far, and for any of you waiting, this is the time!
BTW, we can squeeze a few of these into the future if you let us know now. If we have any deposit, we can order it under the Group Buy. So for you guys who are looking for financing, we can offer the THR "layaway" program. We need a deposit to hold the chargers, and you can pay however you'd like. When it's paid in full it will ship.
We want to make this easy for Mustang Forums members, we think this is an awesome venue!
Just let us know!
Thanks!

Califax 08-08-2006, 12:25 AM May I ask what the price was now that it is over?
Fallstar01 08-10-2006, 02:27 AM Guess I'm a little late but if anyone has any questions about this blower, or wants to know what it's potential is, feel free to post here or pm me. I've pretty much got it dialed in. I also know where to get pulleys and intercooler upgrades specifically for this model.
I'm making 408 rwhp with 411 torque.

Price PM's sent up till now, gonna take a break from it, I've easily sent over 20 PM's now [8D] If you want the price, do like I did and e-mail THR!
I've got the series IV. and technically, NO it will NOT FIT UNDER THE STOCK HOOD. Atleast, not the way you would expect it to. you have to remove, atleast part of the heat shield. There is no way to avoid this, The belt/pulley at the end of the snout will cause friction with the heat shield.
What's worse is that after removing this small portion of heat shield, i had a problem where the paint spider cracked because of the heat. This is just in front of the scoop so it is a noticeable area for any people that are really picky however noone else but me seems to notice it unless I point it out. This happened after alot of hard driving. I've got no plans to change the hood right now though cause it's not that big of a deal.

Damn the fee to get it for 12 months same as cash is almost $300, i might as well save up and pay the 4k for it vs almost paying the same amout to get it with their credit card!! But where exactly does the heat exchanger and intercooler go? I cant find any pics of it!!
The cooler is similar to that of the 03/04 Cobras. It sits in a bath of coolant just below the blower itself.
uhh, it doesn't sit in a bath. the intercooler is roughly 10 inches long, 4 inches wide and 4 inches deep, it's copper and made but garret. It has pretty tight fins. It has a tube that carries water through it but the water stays in the pipes. The heat is transfered to the metal fins from the air, and from the metal fins to the water, which is pumped along to cool off up front. There are two fittings that come out the back the internal heat exchanger (which sticks out of the back of the intake). The fittings are to hoses. One comes from the front heat exchanger, the other goes to the coolent resovoir which sits just next to your radiator. The coolant resovoir has a hose that goes to the pump which sits inside your front bumper next to the front heat exchanger. There is one fuse in the system as well. The pump turns on roughly 30 seconds after you power the car. There are also two fans that sit behind the front heat exchanger which sits directly in front of the radiator but down low. They make a steady hum when they are active.

Ok I was wondering before I make my final decision, what kind of MPGs are we looking at, would I be forced to use premium gas, and do I have to tap into the oil pan for this kit?
MPG would suffer slightly but you'd have a hell of alot more power. premium gas is recommended but if you're cheap, use regular and stay out of boost which is pretty easy (just don't floor it).
No need to tap the oil pan. This kit is self oiled. It has a tiny allen wrench type of screw in dip-stick on top. I think you change the oil maybe once every 50k miles. There are some care instructions on whipples site.

So can i put my accufab 70mm t/b on it?? And is there a place to tap into on the s/c for a boost gauge?? And how much Whp will i see with 4 psi? with 9??
you can use the t/b last i checked, and the boost gauge gets tapped into any intake vacuum line. you should see at least 350 at the wheels.
It'll actually take up to 75mm tb just fine.
350 to the wheels on stock boost will require atleast a cold air intake, a TB, a cat-back, and maybe an x-pipe. 330 is more realistic in stockish form. However, torque should be 340+

Ok guys i am tired of looking around trying to find pics but does anyone know where i can get pics of a complete install or pics of EVERYTHING that comes with the kit????????? I still dont understand how the heat exchanger and intercooler works on these cars!!! mhelp me out!
EDIT: just found some new info - So does the heat exchanger act as a raidator and a external water pump pushes the water through that and then to the intercooler which is mounted right under the s/c and the air from the s/c blows over the intercooler???????? Did i get that right? I would still like more pics if possible though! And what the small external mounted tank for? a resivior?
This info is basically correct. Resovoir to pump, pump to front heat-exchanger, front heat-exchanger, to internal heat-exchanger(intercooler), Intercooler to resovoir.
Jcelli04 08-22-2006, 08:18 PM just out of curiousity can someone pm me the price of this thing, even though its over
