Racing a Mazda6

Ok i was just wondering who you think would win in a race.....Im going to the track wednesday with my friend he has a Mazda6 auto vs my 97 stick. Ill start off by saying i raced him a while ago when his car was stock he ran a 16.3 and i ran a 16.0....now he added cat back and a cai, and i added just a cai, do you think he can beat me now....his car comes stock with 215hp and 200 tq now he added about 30hp/30tq (his **** was dyno proven..so the manufacture says) so his car sits around 245hp and 230tq and im guessing im at 160hp and 225tq (not at wheels) so your output?

i was wondering a smae/different question. My buddy has a 05 mazda3 and i have a 94 stang, we both only have pipes done., we both have 5 speeds? who takes who?

does ur friend with the mazda 6 use the auto-stick/tiptronic when he races?

the manufacturers lie. most will say "yeah man i got 15 hp from a cai" but if you really dyno those things theyre only at like 5 max. just look at the turbonators and their claimed 60-80 hp gain. i dont know what those mods would do to a mazda 6 but im pretty sure he didnt pick up all of that from just exhuast and a cai. ill say maybe 10-15 max.

The Mazda3 will be a pretty close race. I say the best driver wins.

The Mazda6 is a little faster so you may have some trouble with that. I say the Mazda6 edges you out by a little.

well im leaving at 5 tonight to go racing at cecil county dragway....ill gladly post the timeslips and all be back later with the results....

First, the Mazda 6 puts out 220hp stock....second , their is a CAI/chip combo that does give like 15whp to them. Mazda runs VERY rich factory, so leaning them out gives quite a bit of power...I can believe another 10hp from the cat-back also, as they are VERY restrictive.....

vs. a 97 V6 stang 5 speed....he will whoop you...if he had a 5 speed, he would have whooped you bone stock
