Default high compression yes or no?

ok what is the highest compression you all would suggest for a street 302 on pump gas. i was thinking of going 10.5 to 1 up to 11 to 1. let me know if this is to much.

11:1 depending on the cam, and how much overlap is ground in will be the determining factor as it will bleed off a little cylinder pressure, what head?

still debating on charger. dought i will do it. just kind of weighing my options out. i have a tfs stage 2 cam 1.6 rockers and 195cc strike force alum heads, but may be changing to afr 165cc if i decide to go n/a. N/a is what im leaning toward and maybe a shot of nitrous. cant see spending 2 grand on charger when i dont race that much. i hope u all understand.

what are the gains from stock pistons to 11.5:1 compression? 50rwhp? what is it? that will be a huge consideration for me when I get mine rebuild. 11.5 will still run on 87/89 octane right?

LOL umm..no 11.5 is border line with 93 and the right cam. I have had a 11+ compression engine and it ran fine on 93 but the cam bled off pressure, like Myshifter said. But as a rule I would atay less than 10.5 and run 93 octane.

so what compression would be ok for 87 pump gas? and what's the hp gains from jumping up to that ratio? what about the 11 ratio and 93 pump gas?
