does anyone have any ideas of why an svo i'm looking at surges from 300 to 1200 rpms when its cold. and if u don't help it out on the gas a little bit it dies. i'm thinking its some sensor but am just not sure which one it might be. otherwise it runs great once u get it warmed up. thanks

it could be the idle air control, but i think only the tps would cause it to surge that bad

What year is the car? My understanding is that the TPS does not need adjusting in the newer years, the computer does an inquiry on start up and makes what ever it sees "zero". The old 5.0 had to be set. Anybody know?

If it's an svo then it's not one the doesn't require adjustment. If your idle surges that much then check the tps voltage as recommended. Then pull out the iac and clean it out. After that try checking your timing and see where it at.

Could be several things but those are the most common ones I know.

Check your TPS, more than likely its out or dead, clean you IAC and check your timing. If all that is done and it keeps doing that, might want to check your vaccum lines
