Default 99-04 Mustang v6/automatic vs. my wife

So a couple of nights ago me and my wife are driving around at about 50, the speed limit was 45, and all the sudden these teenagers pull up next to us, driver is about 17-18, the passenger is about 17-18 and the kid in the back is about 14-15. Their in this 99-04 black v6 convertible with an auto, the dude drivin looks at me and nods his head and takes off, so I just laugh my ass off for a few seconds. My wife asks if she could beat him, she was driving our Celica GTS with 6spd and intake and exhaust. I laugh and tell her yeah, pretty easily. So as were going down a hill, the speed limit lowers to 40 so she downshifts and then this little mids 90 Civic lx flies by us at about 60 or so and catches a light with the Stang. The Stang won that race, and then the Civic turned at the next light. So now were lined up at the light, now mind you my wife never races, I have to beg her too, and which this is good, she makes sure no cops or other cars are around. So before the light turns I look over at the Stang and the dude is smiling so I tell my wife go ahead and race him and see if you dont beat him. So she revs up to about 4000rpms, drops the clutch, no tire spin, and after 1st shes about 3 cars ahead, then after she shifts from 2nd to 3rd were about 6 cars ahead, so she shuts down. Then we pull up to the next red light and the little kid in the back is smiling and waiving bye bye at us like they won or something. I just look over at him and said, "hey, I own a GT and its kinda fast, but your v6 isnt unless you put some money into it, and you didnt stand a chance at against this car". They just laughed and went on about their way. I hope to see them again in the Stang or even in the Celica again.

For some reason when I launch at 4000rpms, I spin. I usually rev it up to about 5000-5500rpms and then drop the clutch. My wife really doesnt know racing mechanics and such forth and she thinks its really bad for the car/clutch to rev that high. But I told her its just a chance your gonna have to take if your gonna race. LOL

Nanaki, I'm pretty sure with about 400rwhp, its gonna be hard to not spin. LOL

I've only been driving a manual, in our Celica for about 8 months or so, and I only drive it like once a week because I drive the Stang. Shes almost 25 and has been driving manual for about 9 years.
