I was chatting about my car to some one today and i said my dream plans i.e. full nut and bolt rest with minor suspension changes and was asked if i would sell it after that, i said only for a 65-66 fastback and they asked if you are doing all that work why not mod the coupe to a fastback? So got me thinking has anybody done this? Is it possible? or is the availability of parts make it a no goer i.e. rear glass?

It's pretty challenging from what I've heard. I know a race shop about 30 min from my hosue has a fastback top (real one) and they are saving it for me when I finally decide to either change my coupe or get another coupe with a bad top and do it. It really is up to you but as youll find many other people on these forums to say, leave the coupes the way they are! You'll find a good fast back that needs some work and youll probably end up spending just as much money doing the coupe to fast back conversion as you would buying a fastback. But ultimately it is up to you! Good luck!
How much body work experience do you have? Plenty of people have done it but personally, I don't think it's worth the risk of ruining the coupe if you mess up. FB's are awesome but I'm proud of my coupe. Unless you really know what you're doing I personally wouldn't recommend it.
Edit: I agree with Emporer, you'll spend as much money as you would if you just bought a FB...
Oh i will never do it, I want my car to be as it came out the factory with minor mods for handling and safety, twisty narrow european roads. I was just wondering if it was possible I think people who change 6's for v8 are misguided.
Is that car green or is it just the camera? I'm glad to see that you don't plan on doing anything to the car except a few toys and some safety. I hadn't even realized you were European because your English is perfect
