I just couldn't stand reading the BS in that thread and not posting.
I'm the driver of the Cobra and the producer of the video.
The car does have the mods listed in the video.
The pre-dyno #'s were 455 RWHP - 503 RWTQ. ~12.0 A/F and 23* max timing on 93 octane. Here is the graph. This is all of the mods listed in the video EXCEPT for the ported blower.
And here is the graph after the port. 11.6 A/F and 23* max timing on 93 octane.
So how about that, I gained 61 RWHP from the port.
Here's the story about that night,
The Z06 was shifting quite slow from 2nd to 3rd, he just didn't want to grind/miss 3rd again, so he took his time. My belt was slipping at the top of 3rd and seemed to be most of 4th, so maybe his slow shift and my belt slipping evened things out?
You can hear the belt slippage in the video. The whine of the Eaton doesn't increase in pitch as the speeds build, it actually stays the same and then decreases near the top of 4th, not sure how much power I was losing.
The cause of my belt slip may had been the coolant that was spraying out of the filler cap onto the belt.
After the runs I saw a mist on my windshield and wondered what it was, opened my hood and it was pretty wet in there; the shop that did my blower swap overfilled the coolant by a good bit. I drained some coolant and no longer have that problem, or belt slip so far from what I can tell. Yeah I know, excuses excuses!
That C6 Z06 is an awesome car. It's like the T1000 in "Terminator 2", all advanced technology and fancy shmancy, I guess it was sent from the future to terminate the Terminator.
The commentary about the belt slip wasn't meant to be taken as "Aw hell I'da beat tha sumbitch if my belt ain't been slippin!" It was added in to make it clear that my car was not running 100% at the time of the race, and I did not realize this until after the races while I was reviewing the video.
We were just trying to show how these two cars compare in a real world situation, and I thought it was noteworthy to mention that I may had been down on HP a bit and that the race would have been closer had I not had the slip, HOWEVER, he STILL would have won.
I absolutely LOVE the C6 Z06, and Corvette's in general. They are excellent cars in every way. The new Z is amazing. It is a better car in every way than the Cobra, except for price.
Anyways, just wanted to clear up the BS.
We have ran since then when I have had no belt slip and he pulls me by ~1.5 cars from 50-140. - and 2 cars from 50-160. It IS no doubt the faster car, I would guess it takes a 530-540 RWHP Cobra to run even with one.
By the way, Eindow - you seem to be quite uneducated about the '03/'04 Cobra despite you having owned one, your moronic commentary took me by suprise.
