dont get too cocky i had a C6 with a cam headers intake manifold and walked away from my friends C6 Z06. you might be alittle faster in a straight line and i mean alittle faster but get yourself on a big road course with a viper coupe and see who crosses the finish line first.
Cocky? I'm just stating the facts. Before you mention mods you should think about what you saying and what type of argument your trying make. Your telling me that a camed C6 with headers and intake walked away from a C6 Z06. I can believe that but the C6 was modified which basically means nothing when you think about it. Stock for stock a C6 Z06 > Viper live with it. I don't really drive on road courses. I'm all about the streets and track. But since you know so much about the Viper and the Z06's performance I must assume that YOU and not one of your "friends" owns one of these machines. So which do you have? The C6 Z06 or the Viper? Put down the Car & Driver magazine and tell me how you came to your conclusions.... based on your expieriences...
There is no way a Viper is gonna run a C6ZO6 on a course. You had a C6 and have already replaced it? It's nice to know about C6's performing well with mods but I can't stand when someone compares a modified car to a stock one. I don't care if the modded C6 is faster I'd rather have the ZO6.

it's an interesting read. seems like the ford gt (at least according to them) is faster straight-line.. but the vette is superior in a course. however, surprisingly, they said they enjoyed the viper the most in the road course.. even though they're not as great in regular streets.

However, IMHO, the true testing of a "super" car is its all around performance (handling, braking) as well as top end speed. The Nurburgring is one of the most famous testing grounds in the world for all kinds of performance cars and bikes, and it really helps set the benchmark for a lot of automakers when they are shooting for performance goals.
FWIW, the new C6 Z06 put down a REALLY impressive time around the 'Ring. I can't remember what it was offhand.
