its not a matter of being faster or slower...its very different launching on a prepared drag strip..ask yellowcobra...he made his first trip to the track and learned in a hurry. there is some learning curve to it...

and what kind of tires would you be running this 11.30 on?

I used to run BFG Drag radials. Now I run Mickey Thompson's. They are softer and bite in better. If I run a stock tire, I will wipe out into the curb. In fact, If I floor it under 40 mph, I will spin tires. I have to run drag radials ALL THE TIME to make driving safe. Problem is rain. Gotta drive slow.

i dont know quite how to describe it...the track is much less forgiving with the launch. if you launch too hard, you spin (or if you launch too hard and get good traction, youll likely break a street driver but not always)...also, if you launch too easy on the clutch, where as on the street the tires would still spin a bit, the car will bog alot more on the track...and with your automatic, which luckily requires far less skill, you will have a harder time trying to get it to bite...

also, without a properly setup suspension and a good launch, even with the auto, traction will become an issue...

why not just to go the track with a helmet and give it a try?

mr rogers, will you be getting the Z to the track soon?

Bog out? What is that? I am not trying to be funny. Bogging out to me is running rich. When you floor it, it burbbles and boggs -- going no where.

As far as traction, I am set up good: Alburn limited slip posi, 31 spline axles, Steeda adjustable control arms, koni adjustable shocks in the rear, Koni coilovers in the front. I also added full length subframe connectors to stiffen up the frame. Stock sway bar in the rear. I added a blue steeda sway bar in the front and I know that hurts a little. Overall with drag radials, it hooks up nicely.

Lets just say that my helmet is a bit dusty but it's been worn in...

I will go with intake and exhaust. Everything else will have to wait until my warranty expires. Who knows by then I might be looking at the Covette Blue devil....

im not impressed. i can dust my friend's 2000 dinan m5 all day long up to about 150 where he starts pullin back on me...now his 600hp turbo m3, thats a diff story. lets just say i've seen my fair share of black smoke pouring out from behind that sucker.

Sorry I couldn't impress you sleeper, but I thought I would share my first kill with the guys in the forum. I will post them as they come...

you know i was just kiddin with ya bud. i wish i had the dough right now for a c6 z06...i would drop this stang faster than a fat chick on a piggy-back ride

Sleeper your drifts between seriousness and joking keeps me replying to your posts. Im always wondering "what is he gonna syay next" LOL

this:
"my stereo is louder and sounds better than your z06 ever will.

its also faster...i mean, travelling peak to peak total of 68mm at 50hz (50 times per second)...let me do the math...zero to 15.21 miles per hour in under 1/4 of a second...beat that shlt!!!!

oops, i forgot an end quote..."

eh, none of that is true (well, the math is right, but ur 06 will always sound better than even a great kick-drum beat combined with a top-notch bass line), im just jealous still

...now its your turn to figure out WTF i just said and how the hell to respond, while i take a nap at my desk and get paid a measly 15 bucks to do so...

Haha. No. I have been working for the same J&J company since I was 17yrs old. I have financed many cars and my credit reflects such. I'm not rich or wealthy I just have less expenses than most...well not any more. I also got a great deal on this car. I traded my 03 Z06 in so that cut quite a bit off the price off my new one.
