It's a nice day out and I decide to take the kids to see the local hang out spot. Everyone brings their hot rods and muscle cars out for cruise in night at Glory Days. The kids and I head out with the top down, cruising about 35 and getting on the highway. What blows by me with his finger out the window is a G35. I know, another G35 story. Here we go again! My sons start yelling at me to get him. They are 6 and 3, two big boys who love dad's Mustang. I look ahead and traffic goes into one lane before merging on the highway. I get on it and get in behind the G35. He rolls down to 20 and lets traffic clear in front of him. My kids are laughing because they can't hear his car over me revving it. He floors it and I hang right on his bumper. I keep motioning for him to go faster. He either was scared to let it loose or those G35's are slow. We get to about 70 and get on the highway, my kids wave at him as we flew by. I slowed down at 120 , let him catch up and see if he wanted anymore. He just followed me to the next exit and pulled off. The whole time my kids are yelling to do it again. I had to tell them that you can't tell mommy and daddy shouldn't have done it. I explained how dangerous it is. Kids still loved the kill!

Nice kill. But I NEVER race with kids in the car with me. Thats precious cargo if you know what I mean. Now if you were alone more power to you but at 120mph your sending the wrong message to them. It's not my style to judge anyone so I not trying to knock you. All i'm saying is that we have to resist temptation in front of our kids.

No need for sarcasim, all i'm saying is that anything can happen @ 120mph. So maybe we as adults should do whats in the kids best intrest. I probably spend more time in triple digit speeds than most of you but not with children in my car.

why bother replying to lookinforastang, look at the guys avatar! His unsheltered kids will be holding up liquior stores before they're thirteen! Don't have a battle of wits with someone who's completely unarmed!!This is why I won't explain the difference between sheltering your children and endangering them!

120 is NOT fast in highway racing, I'm sure he was holding back at those speeds. FTW, did you even ask what the traffic condition was before posting?

Also, if you can't see the humor in cheech smoking, then you need to gtfo or stfu, I'm tired of people whining about things they don't like, but have NOTHING to do with them.

120mph is fast? If 120 feels fast in your car, you need to fix it. Heck, if you don't trust your car at 120, you might as well stay off the road. The interstate here sometimes flows around 100...with no accidents. 120 in an open stretch is a nice cruise, or a good 1/4 speed (for a street car).

It sounds like people are thinkng these kids are bouncing up and down on the seats. I'm sure they were plenty safe. A wreck at 75 is very likely to kill everyone in the car...

I have to agree with the opinions that have been expressed. I did a bad thing that MIGHT have put them in danger. I felt very comfortable with road conditions and traffic. I do love it how everyone wants to condemn my actions. Get a life! Worry about what goes in your house with your kids. I told my kids I was wrong and it was dangerous. No one read that part did they. Everyone one of you who street races poses a threat to the community or yourself. No one is slamming all of you guys for be reckless. I'll just head over to another forum where Dr. Phil isn't hanging out!

120 doesn't feel fast at all in a sports car. But my point is that impact at 120 even with seat belts equals instant death. No doctor Phils in here just people with comon sense.

Besides 120mph isn't that fast, hell I think the speedo's are broken on my cars because they go over 150mph at least twice aday...

BTW.. Nice Kill...
