Have anyone with a 06 GT raced a 05/06 GTO? If so what was the result

Which car is faster a stock 06 GT auto or a stock 06 GTO in 1/4 mile or on top side for that matter?

stock? its a decent race, but the gto DEF has the edge. bolt-ons its up in the air. i've personally never lost to a gto. beat one several times at the track by more than half a second and a couple mph

+1 on paper a GTO is faster but, as most will tell you GTO do not run well in the 1/4 mile, they have ahard time getting traction

Sorry guys, but what year GTOs are you refering to, because i have an 05 , which is stock and i won't race 05-06 Gts on the street, unless they have bolt ons. I am not trying to be a prick, but every race i have encountered has been at least a 3-4 car advantage. I have even given some one a car and a break, which means i gave him a full car lead and let him take off and i continuosly beat him 3 cars from that vantage point and this guy can drive and has run 13.5 at 104, with CAI, Exhaust, and a tune. I consistantly run 12.7 -12.8 at 109-108, with a 1.9 60' at Atco, with only Nittos. If you are referring to the 04, then ok, because they are not as fast. Don't get me wrong i have always been a Mustang guy I had four, all ran faster than the 13 second 1/4, without getting into specifics. It is true some guys cannot drive them, but many Mustang drivers can't drive either and keep in mind there are a lot more GTs on the street than GTOs so when you run accross a crapy driver, people tend to generalize the population. So, to answer your question even further, both driver being equal, with proper air and manual, the 05 GTO will when by at least .5 and I would give the Mustang a .3 edge over the 04. I am goning on experience and not what i have been told. I am at the track wacthing and racing at least three times a month.

should i post the time slips of me absolutely demolishing a bolt-on 05 (ls2) gto a week or so ago? they do not run 12s, but especially not 109mph traps ESPECIALLY with drag radials. they are faster than a gt stock, and sound badass, but they are not faster than a terminator or corvette in stock trim pal.

I think it's an unwritten rule here in the Street/Strip forums to take any fast car, subtract .5 seconds from the actual 1/4 mile capability of the car, and then post the resulting time and claim that anyone with a pulse can duplicate said results. Thus SRT-8's now run 12.8-12.9's, GTO's run 12.7's-12.8's, 03 Cobra's run 12.4's, C6 ZO6's run low 11's, etc. etc....

here is some video i took of one at the track. the DA was just under 3000 that day. the GTO are not as fast as people have been saying if u ask me. i cannot wait till i run into one adn beat him from a roll, then they ask if i was spraying. hahaha, nope.

I've raced a stock 05 GTO 6 speed and An 06 GTO with air-bag suspension mods (supposed to reduce wheel hop and improve traction) and the rusult was the same both times, They lost to my stage 2 srt-4 with other supporting mods! Usally the drivers of the goat just sits and spins at the line and then winds up with a mid to high 13 second run. I've yet to see a goat break into the 12's at atco or cecil county drag way. I'm sure there's GTO's out there that can run 12's with a few minor mods and a goodtune but I doubt many stock goats are going to break into the 12's

Sleeper o5: I never mentioned antthing about a terminator or Vette. If that is the case, i could tell you my Grandnational will beat a GT, the question was if an 05 -06 Gt could win against a GTO. I have nothing to do with you demolishing a bolt on GTO. Obviously, the GTO guy could not drive, or has a tuning problem. I have video and time slips to prove. in fact I don't know what part of town you are in, but i will be at Atco next thursday and Atco is known for a fast track. I would love for your stock Gt to demolish my GTO. I would bet what ever you would like, just to prove drivers are the true mod. Dude i have street raced for over 15 years and there is know way in hell, a GT with a comparable driver is going to beat the GTO. The numbers just won't match. I have yet to see a GT run 13.0-13.2 stock, not saying it never happens, but I never saw one. Now if the GTO is an 04, then there is know arguement. As stated before, I don't internet race, i do this and for Money. As for the 03-04 Cobra as mentioned, that car is a different animal. The Cobra is the modern day Grandnational. it can be hard to figure out what type of work has been done and is a hard car to bet on. And for Blazer 4.3. The camaro with bolt ons is a beast, with a good driver. I have driven my friend's SS 11.7 at 119 , his car dynos 440 to the rears. There is no doubt they can be fast, but if you are running 104 as your sig says, from a roll you will lose to a good driver. Go to LS2GTO and see what stock 05-06 GTOs are running. And with the same mods you have, they are running mid to low twelves. i stated before that there are not many GTOs on the street, so therefore, if there are bad drivers, then everyone will say the car is slow. I could make a living off of racing the guys without the knowlegde on these cars. Please, keep posting how slow these cars are so i could continue to take money from these mis-informed individuals, who internet race. Sorry guys, but i am in the field racing and watching, not watching videos of guys with bad times. i am willing to bet if someone else were to drive the GTO on the Film, the outcome would be different. I am not bashing the GT, but stop saying a car with a true 400 HP is slow. The trail blazer SS is runing low 14s to high thirteens stock and low thirteens with a converter, tune and CAI, with the LS2, so use common sense here people, the GTO is a low 13 second car from the factory period. Put tires on and slip the cluch and 12s are there. and yes, they are trapping 107-109 as bad as it sounds. Oh. i know they aren't the best looking cars, but with staggered 18 inch AZA Z-1s I get constant attention.
