It really does seem possible to me that this could be done. Just because our engines are "toned down" from the factory doesnt mean that they cant put out those kinds of numbers. The GT's only have 0.6 liters of displacment more than ours and they are puttin out almost 100 more hp from the factory. All I am saying is that if a little 2.0 rice burnin honda can do it then we should be able to do it! :)
Those little motors may make HP... but Torque is what wins races... You feel Torque and talk about HP... My 200HP Boxster didn't really start pulling until almost 4000 RPM!!! LOL!

But a 2.0L 4 banger has no balls... Take the Civic Si 2.0L I-4 197HP @ 7800RPM and 138ft-lbs TQ @ 6100RPM!

right I agree. displacment and tuning are the main things... 4.0L is plenty of displacement... but I think you guys are getting the wrong idea about this forum... I didnt mean for it to be a debate about weather or not a 4.0 V6 can put out 250 rwhp n/a. I wanted it to be about what brands and parts give the bigest gains for hp... let me worry about the dyno and trying to get to 250. I will let you know how it goes.

The only place that seems to have any of the parts you are talking about is Super Six Motorsports... While they do have parts, they don't seem to have any real data on the kinds of gains you can expect to see...
You'll just be hard pressed to get to 250-300rwhp N/A... especially if you're an automatic. Bolt-ons; C&L intake, tune, long tube heads, aluminum drive shaft, PHP alternator pulley, etc. might gross around 210-220rwhp. If you have all this $$ to spend, go F/I. I always love seeing a blown V6.
also I know torque is really what puts you back and that is the main thing for acceleration. I know that it is really hard to build up torque without displacement, but that is where it goes back to only a difference of .6 liters... it isnt that big of a difference in displacement. I think with proper tuning it would be possible.
only problem is that I will void my warranty if I just go aheand and throw a blower on it... if I can do as much as I can without voiding my warranty I would like to and then after 36,000 miles go ahead and throw on the paxton supercharger that they are using on the CS6 the NOVI 1200 and that is also when I plan on doing all of my head/cam work. what kind of exhaust do you recamend I go with? I figure the first thing I will buy will be a GT takeoff rear bumber and a duel exhaust with an H pipe. I will probably buy a CAI and an Xcal II along with that. I am pretty set on the Xcal everything I have seen says its the best tuner for this car, but I have no idea what kind of induction I should get I am looking at a combo xcal/CAI on www.v6mustangstuff.com but if there is a really good CAI that stands out above the rest I would like to go with that
hey bro i'm behind ya all the way. me and my homeboy are doing some reserach on how to get more power out of the engine, via bolt ons, tune, cam, heads, valves, intake manifold. the plan is to get parts from other engines and use those and see wat works and what doesnt, so ur not alone in this effort.

Not to pick on you but... dang.. I have seen "I have to wait until the warranty is up..." a lot this week... I just don't understand that... If you put a supercharger on and blow the motor at 35,000 miles or at 37,000 miles it's going to cost the same to fix... ?????
Thanks for the support. I just hope that I will be able to find out everything I need to know that super six website that scrming posted about is pretty good they have a pdf file about the 4.0 and what its strengths and weakness are and they have a catalog with a lot of the same stuff that you see everywhere else, but also they have some built heads and some more of the internal parts that we would need if we build up our engines like we are talking and then put a super/turbo or nitrous on it. Have you found any parts that seem to be pretty good for the 4.0?
yeah but if there is a problem with the engine before I put a supercharger on it and it is under 36000 than it will only cost me 50 bucks. if I put a supercharger on it and it is something unrelated that messes up then I have to pay full price... just want to get my money out of the warranty...

I would think that if your car has many miles on it chances are the motor will make it to 36,000 miles... That whole infant mortality thing...
