OK i have a new head unit, a pioneer dehp6600 and i bought the wire converter but the head unit will not come on. I am guessing this is something to do with the FM modulator? since my power ground and memory go to it? also i hear something about bypassing the preamp?

i'm not familiar with fm modulators but try putting the power/ground directly to the hu instead of indirectly and see if that turns it on... if it does... toss the modulator unless you really need one... in that case... get a new one.
