went to the races last night and ran a 98 procharged 50 shot of n2o, bolt-on gt on slicks. i asked if he wanted to run and said yes. i turn by bottle on and we line up. he gets a great launch and has 3 cars on me, i feather the throttle to try and keep it from spining but can cause i have crappy street tires with 4/32's of tread left on them. as soon as i hook in 2nd i flip the switch and nothing happens. we finish the race with him about 3 1/2 cars ahead. we pull in to the pits and i ask him for a rematch because my bottle wasn't working. i park and look over my wiring and find that my wot switch was missing the wire from the relay so i replaced it and tested her out and worked like a charm. i asked if he was ready and he was stalling a little and i finaly talked him in to a rematch. we line up and and he launches even harder than before. he gets 4 cars on the launch. i hook in second and flip the switch and stop his pull instantly, in third i was gaining on him fast but didn't have enough track. we finished with me losing by half a car. i am guessing he sprayed on the launch this past time . we have a rematch set up for next sunday with me on my et streets. he said he should have heads and cams by them. i think i did well for having crap tires against his slicks. it was a fun night. by the way i was pulling him in third i think i would take him on a roll race.

sounds about right except for one thing...there is no way in fu(king hell he got four cars on you on the launch. that would be half of a block ahead of you from 0-20mph...and unless he's got 300-500hp more than you AND full drag setup, you are exaggerating.

What were the times on the races? I was pulling sub 1.9 60's with streettires and no stall when my car was auto. When I stalled it I was pulling 1.6-1.7 on stock suspension and Nitto's. How bad were you launching?

Oh yea, wtf is up with flipping the switch when you have a WOT switch. Don't you have an arming switch to arm the nitrous, then the WOT switch to simply tell the system when to spray? If not, something is definately missing in your nitrous kit.

Maybe its because he doesn't want the N20 to engage in first so he won't spin...

HaHa you needed an Auto to put 1.6-1.7's on Nitto's......

You can get a progressive controller for that...or just not go WOT til 2nd, or get a window switch like mine which locks out 1st if you want. If you're on street tires, you're gonna spin in 1st on motor or gas.

[nothing to do with this thread]I only went 2.0's with the manual in it, of course, I didn't have a rear end, which meant I drove around the waterbox, no burnout, then left the line. I imagine I could have at least went some 1.8's w/o trying to break anything. It's all better now with the 8.8" and now, the ultimate tranny.[/ntdwtt]

i flip the arming switch so it won't spray in 1st. he would kill me on the launch to me it looked like 4 cars. how is there no way. he has frikin slicks and sprayed on the launch. i am on crap street tire which are at 4/32 left in tread. he hooks instantly, i hook in second flip the switch and am pulling hard and end up with him 1/2 a car ahead. i see that happening, i am not exaggerating.

there are no times on sundays but he said his best was a 12.4.

my 60ft are probly in the 2.1 range with all the spining on my crap street tire.
i spray in 1st only when i have my et streets on so i have no need for a window switch with 1st gear lockout.

i dont know where sleeper is gettin that is impossible to launch someone by 3-5 cars. i see that all the time. street radials against slicks, you will get walked. even worse if he is good with the tree.

if he is getting rid of the stock 98 heads for something better that will make a huge difference especially with the supercharger.
