I know a kid that has a stock '83 GT with headers and exhaust. My '88 LX just has exhaust. I'm going to race him soon and a buddy of mine is going to record it. I'll see if I can post it up here for you guys. Who do you think will win?

Assuming that they've both got a 5.0 in them, what type of transmissions do you each have. Either way I'm going to put my money on you.

Depends on the condition of the '83. Those cars I believe were rated at 200 or 205 hp, but they had restrictive cast iron manifolds (if my memory serves me right), so adding headers to the '83 WILL make a noticable change, not to mention your 88 weighs about 700lbs more than his 83. I also think that ford for 82-84 put in what they called a "marine" cam which had more lift and duration than the non mustang 302's. Do you have headers on yours? At any rate, I think itll be a good race, should be close, I think itll come down to the drivers.

ull win as long as you can shift. also i dont think the 83 5.0 is the H.O. so ur all set

this from the guy that said the 83s have 205 hp¿ ha!

i have an 83. i know what their numbers are. i know what a race between one and a roller blocked mustang will turn out like. and its called a flat tappet cam. and how in the hell can you say that the 83 is 700 pounds lighter¿ really man, lay off the crack.

and dammit, yes, the 83 was a h.o. motor

come on people, its really not hard to do a simple search and you will find out any information you may want about any year of mustang
