Good lord...a lot of seemingly close minded people in here. lol.

A lot of those cars in that movie would spank your everyday muscle car around here...high revving or not.

Like someone mentioned here before...the RB26DETT they supposedly put in the fastback is the LS1 of Japan. Its very capable of holding 700hp+ and responds to mods just as well as our American V8s.

btw...the "Mona Lisa" car is a Nissan Silvia S15...not a skyline.

Would have been much cooler if they put a big american V8 in one of the imports than the other way around. Guess that wouldn't go over with the import crowd though.

If you ask me, the movie was pretty respectful to all cars, sure the import engine in the Mustang was a little strange, but they weren't exactly like "Hey v8's suck lets put a 6-cyl in it lol!!!1".

One thing I liked is even though most of the cars were Japanese, they weren't "rice". Looked a little extreme, but they were all high-performance rwd cars. Did you notice that they even converted the EVO to rwd? I thought that was pretty great.

Also, I think more Americans need to be open to the idea of drifting as a sport and not some ricer game. Right now the 3 best American drifters are Ken Gushi (05 Mustang), Rhys Millen (GTO), and Sam Hubinette (Viper). So what's the problem? Gushi, while American, was born in Japan (parents are Japanese), and Millen and Hubinette are European rally car drivers! So basically right now it looks like our cars can perform just fine, but we're lacking in skilled drivers. So go get some junkyard tires and start practicing! :) In a safe closed course of course, then go to scouting events :).

The problem with US cars drifting is mostly size and weight issues. Let's face it, us cars often weigh a lot more than their Japanese counterparts, and therefore need a lot more power than the Japanese cars to drift.

But clearly it can be done, I just think you need a deeper wallet to make it work.

I’ve seen the movie, and I’ve seen the last 2 as well. I actually think this is the most serious one yet. Except for the silly one liners.

“It’s not the ride? But the rider?” Jeez, if you have a bogus ride and put a racecar driver in it, and give me a viper, guess who is going to win in the ¼ mile, or a couple of laps around a track?

“If you ain’t out control, you ain’t in control” F*ck that, drifting is all about control, and is seen as being IN control. Everyone who tried to drift once in his life KNOWS it’s really hard to do right.

i agree with some of you guys. I thought the movie was really good, definitely the best one out of the 3 (ha can we even call FAF2 a real movie, seemed more like something you'd see produced by TNT). I thought it had a good mix of alot of cars, the driving scenes were some of the craziest stunts i've ever seen and ok you guys dont like the mustang, i LOVED it, even if they didnt use the skyline motor in teh scenes. I thought it was pretty cool. As someone said it wasnt a SUPER RICER movie and thats where i think some people arent open minded, "oh its a movie about cars in japan? ...damn ricers". Im pretty sure anyone who can appreciate cars can find something nice about this movie. And hypothetically, if all the close minded people just sucked it up and went, not only would they like it, but the film industry would see higher turnouts and realize damn, there's a pretty big crowd for the car guys, lets make another car movie (ha and not necessarily another FF movie, but i hope you guys get the drift...get it the DRIFT)

bottom line its a sweet movie and cant see how EVERYONE cant get some enjoyment out of it.

my 2 cents^^

I am pretty sure it burns gas just like your 351W. Faster than your 351W as well....and its "underrated" at 276hp.

I think if they poured rice in the gas tank it wouldn't go anywhere. lol

hate is just another form of ignorance.

Take a ride in one...appreciate the car because you are an enthusiast.

Compared to a stock Bronco...I guess so.

Maybe you are just riding in the wrong ones.

Hey I have a question, i just got my first car, it is a 2000 ford mustang V6!!! And i was wondering how long it will last, bc it has alot of miles 157,789 to be exact!! How long do u expect my car to last, how long does the average 2000 mustang V6 usually last, and how long do u expect my car, with this many miles to last? The body and interior of the car is in basically perfect shape!!! I really appreciate you for helping me, and taking the time to answer my questions!!!

i actually liked the movie. i just appreciate fast cars regardless of domestic or import. and you have to admit those guys were freaking good as drivers. i mean the stuntmen ofcourse.

the skyline engine in mustang was only a gimmick for the movie, it was actually a v8. but i wouldn't mind, love the mustangs but that is the best engine in the world.

that movie also pumped me up to go and drift right after. fun as hell

Thats the problem with these movies. It teaches kids to go and be stupid on the road. I remember a time when we used to go out late at night, in the middle of nowhere and race for money. Nobody bothered us. As soon as that stupid movie came out, the cops became a pain in the ass...The import assholes caused trouble for us at our spots. I would love to go back in time and stop those dumb ****ing movies from coming out. All it did was ruin everything for the people who weren't stupid.

"I live my life a quarter mile at a time." biggest WTF moment in the series!

It was ok. I only watched cause i heard that there was a mustang vs. viper race. But that was right at the beginning... Movie didnt get much better after that.
