Hi Everyone,

I'm going to paint my brake calipers, just as soon as I decide on a color.
I need help. Does any one have pictures of there's? So I can get some ideas.
All suggestions and opinions are welcome. By the way my Stang is Tungsten Gray.

Thank you

Here is a how to link..... sorry the you need to copy and paste it in your browser's address bar..... http://www.cs.unm.edu/~firedrak/documents/calipers.htm

About colors.... Mineral gray pony .... that is a tought one..... I would stick to some gray/ chrome...... loud color may make the calipers stick out of place.....IMO

Hot Pink would be amazing.....

Ok maybe not...black would be the only color I'd do with your color.

Red would look good too I think. I saw a pic somewhere of a gray stang with the red calipers.
Looks great IMO.

I think black would look the best, but it wouldn't stand out if that's what you're going for. In that case, I think a red "brembo" look would be cool.

Black or red....I'd choose!

blazen351
06-22-2006, 02:15 PM
I don't know, black red and yellow all look good, and hell for somthing that started as a joke the pink doesn't look to bad either LOL

Granted it's hard to say exactly how it would look in real life.

One thing to consider though when you pick your color...are you going to be doing stripes or and any interior colors or what not that you could tie in with???

ricanpassion

Blazen!!!! Pink is rice! Any neon would be ricey!

blazen351
06-22-2006, 02:18 PM
No way man Rice is white...or yellow if it's fried. Oh and brownish if it's wild rice. LMAO

ricanpassion
06-22-2006, 02:19 PM
LOL...you're a trip!!! Talking about ricey, why not add a set of fire flyes on them wheels!!!

blazen351
06-22-2006, 02:23 PM
well the biggest question would be how to mount them. I mean do you glue there wings to the wheels, or do you attach by the glowing butt. LMAO.

06-22-2006, 02:30 PM
Some duct tape, or crazy glue would work great!

blazen351
06-22-2006, 02:32 PM
Duct tape rocks! I'm gonna build a house with the stuff one of these days.

black and red both look good, red if you want them to stand out and black if you don't.

what kind of paint do you use to paint them

ricanpassion
06-22-2006, 07:09 PM
High heat paint...you can find caliper paint kits that come with brushes so you do not have to take the calipers off!

I have windveil blue and kind of painted them ford blue. It's pretty bright but I like the color, doesn't look "ricer", looks good, need to repaint the rear, I'd recommend 3 coats because they'll chip.

I used Duplicolor (purchased from Walmart), and put on 2 coats after cleaning the calipers. They look great on the front, the back are chipped away pretty good, however.

G2 Caliper paint - I've used it on several cars and it's tough stuff (2 stage mix - brush on) Even stands up to mild wheel cleaners.

I went with the red, but that was an easy choice just because my car was red :D

I went with red on my car, was thinking of silver but didn't think it would stand out much. If you are wanting them to stand out, I would paint them red, if you are just wanting them to look clean, go with the black.
Here is a pick of mine.

What is the logo from. Is it able to stand up to the heat? I like it. White looks good but I would go with RED. Has to be bright or you might as well leave it stock.

If anyone is interested here is a link to Duplicolor. They have caliper paint kits in several colors. Even have a good demo video showing how to.
