1990 steering seems loose
newbie here: My wife has a 1990 LX convertible that she loves, first car she bought for herself without any outside influence.
In the past month it's had new tires, brakes, shocks, rotors, plugs/wires/cap/rotor, O2 Sensor, timing belt, water pump/thermostat, access belt, A/C check, transmission fluid and filter change, rear end lube changed...it has 76k on it.
problem: A few months ago the steering seemed really loose and I couln't find anything loose, nothing moved, knuckle was tight...so I changed the fluid as best I could, think I bled the system...the steering felt much better and much tighter after that. However, she now tells me (when I'm out of town) that it's very loose again.
So, what wears out, anything dangerous here that needs to be looked at immediately? She just drives it to the marina, pool, exercise, etc. I can probably fix it and then get it aligned but I don't have much experience working on these, as I own two Porsche 944 turbos, one street and one dedicated track car (2450# with 392/402 hp/torque) but if someone could suggest something I will get it done.
Any path of guidance would be appreciated. TIA.
