S197 GT w/Saleen SC vs. S197 Roush Stage 3

Okay, technically its a S197 Roush Stage 2 with Stage 3 RoushCharger, etc. You guys know my car.

Any speculation, bets?

Well, having seen in about two blinks of my eye the video of your boost guage streaking up to trigger the warning light while the tach needle reacts to bouncing off the rev limiter, I'm gonna say the PolkThug Special.

i have not heard good things about the Roush s/c. With that said I dont think you will have much of a problem

Are you kidding? No other supercharger has gotten so many awards.

How much does a stock saleen weigh???/ What have you done to your Performance???

Well my saleen before the s/c was around 3550lbs so assume there is not much of a difference between the new roush and saleen--both have body kits. With a pretty conservative tune I am at 401 rwhp and 422 tq. So I am pretty happy. I know of three people that have gotten Roush s/c and neither have many great things to say about them. There not happy with there overall numbers. I see that you work for Roush Racing so I am not going to get in a " My car is better than yours" I am just telling you what I have heard first hand. I looked at Roush before my saleen and after driving both and the looks of both I went with Saleen. Dont get me wrong Roush makes a great looking car, but not really for me.

As to what have I done to my performace. I am going the similar route as Chevy Killer, so My Performance will be......mmmmm........let me find the right word........FAST......

Since you seem to be pro roush why do you have a KB at 17psi?? Seems a little high?? Why woudl you put a Kenne Bell blower on a Roush stage 3 if it already has the "Award winning" roush s/c???

I suppose I should post the results before it gets nasty.

Disclaimer: I do not condone street racing, these tests were done on a closed course by skilled drivers.

1st race
40 roll, both cars start in second gear. Roush driver honked 3 times then we were off! Both of our cars sounded awesome, I could hear the RoushCharger whining, and all the Roush driver could hear was my Loudmouths. lol Both of our cars shot forward and by the top of 2nd I was creeping ahead, shifted to third at about the same time and started walking away, ended in 4th at ###mph with a few car length lead.

2nd race
20 roll, both cars in first gear. Roush driver honks 3 times. Cars are dead even through first, I pull ahead at the top of second, go to third and I'm gone, then shut down.

Fun races, wish I had video, those races had to look and sound awesome fromt he outside. Chalk one up for Saleen on this one. The owner of the Roush is taking off the RoushCharger and getting a Paxton. Should be interesting to compare again in a few weeks.

Great run. though I am not surprised..... i think some people under estimate the power of the saleen s/c

Since switching to the twin screw designed blower ... SALEEN has really put together a big number producing pkg for the S197s.
Grats on the win.
