Are stangs are much faster than they are rated at because insurence company's. also i am going to be getting duel exausts soon after lisening to some clips. its between an mrt and the ford borla racing muffler. i will have it hopefully this week and will post pics then too. does anyone no if i can get duels as far as mrt though?? i have not seen that yet i do not think??? corect me if i am wrong though. next i think i am going to take some of the advice of you guys and go to the lowering for suspension reasons and what not which is cool because we ride high lol anyway thought i would let you guys see what i was talking about on this. i am OUT! still need to shop for father day lol dad hates what i get anyway because he wants the stang i think lol!!

It was awesome!! He almost one but I took him. It was at a red light. I revved my engine and he revved his. The light turned green and he peeled out and then I got the lead and kept it the whole way. Score one for me eh lol just goes to show you that my car is much faster than i thought it was he gave me thumbs up i gave him the finger! wait until i get my modifications! i will take it to the track next time though. street racing is dangerous though you know? anyway just thought i would let you guys in on the good news

I think its highly possable. it makes sense to. or else we would be paying way much more than what we could afford. why by a v8 mustang for so high a price? I read in C&D this month that one of the Shelby's was listed low to fool insurance companies but I have read nothing about our cars. I weep for the future if that was his idea of providing a reliable source to back up his arguement. "One Mustang 35 years ago was listed with lower hp than it actually had, so the S197 must be the same". After they went SAE that crap didn't happen anymore. And for ******* sake, you're 17, learn the difference between are and our.

Automakers understated power in their cars for years starting in the 60's and continued to the early 70's when two things happened.

The first emission controls showed up and knocked the crap out of HP, and as a further response to the insurance nazis they started to quote NET (on an engine dyno, but with all accessories and pollution control installed)hp instead of Gross (on a dyno with zero acessories and open headers.

That said, I don't see Ford needing to understate a V6, but the manufacterers continue to do it.

How do I know? Well as recently as my 94 anyway, I had an Auto Z28 with 1600 miles on it turn a 13.98 @ 98, that was with a 275 HP rating, 275? I think not.

You MAJOR in Biology or chemistry or if you are going into a law program you usually pick political science or history...but then again a friend of mine majored in art history for his pre law programlol. i know back in the late 60's and early 70's they underrated the cars for insurance purposes like the 428cj was rated at 330 but was really pushing 400(somewhere around there), but they don't do that anymore.

Now we know most teachers get their rocks off by acting like real "tough guys" in front of a room full of kids (don't most end up there because they can't compete with adults?), but you really ought to try to temper your distain, especially since you are so highly trained to deal with all the challenges associated with today’s youth. Remember, you're a "professional".


Listen, if you want to talk smack on poor spelling in a post, that's one thing. I can't stand by and let you bash teachers as a profession though. I have competed with adults in the past and so has teacherman (I believe he was in the military). It takes way more patience dealing with kids on a regular basis, especially when they THINK they know everything but actualy know very little. I have had a number of jobs in my time and the most challenging and rewarding is teaching. Watch what you say about a profession you obviously know nothing about. I agree with teach....it takes special(not retarded special) people to teach my mom does and loves it not for the money(or the lack of because teachers ARE under paid). I have subsituted and that sht is frustrating as hell. Teach keep up the good work.

Bottom line. The attacks on this kid are rediculous. If you think he's really an idiot, then don't interact with him. If you think he has a self esteem problem, why would you attack him in such a manner? Maybe the kid does have some issues, found a Mustang forum to hang out in, and when he posts a message some of our more vocal members don't like, he gets crucified. Is having a little empathy for another person such a stretch? I hang out on many forums for photography, astronomy and various other topics. I have NEVER seen the level of vitriol that exists on these forums. And most of it comes from a core of frequent posters who seem to think they should police the forum for any post that abuses their ********** sensibilities. The feeding frenzy here can become absurd. And anything the kid said AFTER he was attacked has to be discounted, because that's the type of response you can expect from somebody thats been attacked.

This all started when the kid suggested he beat some Z car in a race. Many of the folks here called him an idiot, and then added "if you did beat him, then the Z driver must have been a crap driver". Well guess what? Maybe the guy WAS a crap driver, and maybe he missed multiple shifts and maybe the kid did beat him. Anyone who calls somebody a moron for what they've said, then outlines several possible ways the event could have occured, is..... a moron.

I've personally witnessed the pack mentality here when I mentioned some interactions I had with Bamachips. My self esteem is intact, so it didn't bother me. But, if this kid is lonely, shy, disturbed or has any other problem, everyone who piled on is a jerk. Haven't you had enough child psych to know that kids with esteem problems often brag or take freedoms with the truth? Have your actions, and the actions of others helped to make this a better forum, or served any useful function? If the kid really could have used some online friends, did the initial lynching he got serve to welcome him into the community? Nope. Even if he said something totally stupid, several people could have tried to engage him in a somewhat positive manner.

The point, LX, is that young Steven is purposely trying to get everyone's gears going. He is very good at it. Bottom line. The attacks on this kid are rediculous. If you think he's really an idiot, then don't interact with him. If you think he has a self esteem problem, why would you attack him in such a manner? Maybe the kid does have some issues, found a Mustang forum to hang out in, and when he posts a message some of our more vocal members don't like, he gets crucified. Is having a little empathy for another person such a stretch? I hang out on many forums for photography, astronomy and various other topics. I have NEVER seen the level of vitriol that exists on these forums. And most of it comes from a core of frequent posters who seem to think they should police the forum for any post that abuses their ********** sensibilities. The feeding frenzy here can become absurd. And anything the kid said AFTER he was attacked has to be discounted, because that's the type of response you can expect from somebody thats been attacked.

This all started when the kid suggested he beat some Z car in a race. Many of the folks here called him an idiot, and then added "if you did beat him, then the Z driver must have been a crap driver". Well guess what? Maybe the guy WAS a crap driver, and maybe he missed multiple shifts and maybe the kid did beat him. Anyone who calls somebody a moron for what they've said, then outlines several possible ways the event could have occured, is..... a moron.

I've personally witnessed the pack mentality here when I mentioned some interactions I had with Bamachips. My self esteem is intact, so it didn't bother me. But, if this kid is lonely, shy, disturbed or has any other problem, everyone who piled on is a jerk. Haven't you had enough child psych to know that kids with esteem problems often brag or take freedoms with the truth? Have your actions, and the actions of others helped to make this a better forum, or served any useful function? If the kid really could have used some online friends, did the initial lynching he got serve to welcome him into the community? Nope. Even if he said something totally stupid, several people could have tried to engage him in a somewhat positive manner.

And, if you can dismiss everything you say and post with "it's just a joke" then why did you take offense to my comment? After all, it was "just a joke".



I will agree that the whole “whitev6er” thing has gone on long enough, and I am not guilty of calling him a challenged member of a village. I will however state this, I really thought this guy was a troll vs. some kid just not knowing anything or not logically digesting the material he was reading.

As for the pack mentality, it was in rare form on this one, but I can say, that 100% of the posters here have at least one or two posts they wish they can take back. And I mean 100% of us period. No one is perfect, and we all make mistakes, you included. That is something that is cool about these forum communities, even if someone puts up a dumb post or makes a offending comment, people will let it roll off their back and move on…for the most part.

As for the whole Bamachips thing, I would leave that one alone if I were you. At the end of the day, we all agreed that there are probably a half dozen top tuners for the 4.0. What you experienced wasn’t what I would call pack mentality, more like a market share issue when it comes to internet tuners.

Well, that is a good point, post a street racing thread, and grammar/spelling aside, you run the risk of getting flamed on these boards. Flamed by some of the older "top posters" that don't always spell right or use good grammar!!!!!! But the message is just as important.
