I wonder whats the fastest a mustang can go.*(Including custom and tuner parts.)
well thats kind of a vague statement. . .
I've seen John Forces mustang run in the 4-5 sec range in 1/4, but if your talking about a car like mine, I start to beg the question. . . all motor? just nitrous? just a blower? blower and nitrous? stock motor w/ boltons?
not sure how to answer your question. . .
full bolt-on's with tires, my car should be able to see low 12's, possible high 11's, and thats with just about every bolt-on available. . .

I think he means how fast can you go no matter how you do it while keeping your ride streetable at the same time...
98-02 F-Body LS1 > all GT's and pre-93 Cobra's. 97-04 Vette LS1 much > then all GT's and a drivers race with 93+ cobra's. 05-06 LS2 just scary.
I love my '05, but have been put to shame by every, EVERY LS1 F-Body I've raced. At least I can admit the truth.
I had an Auto LS1 Camaro once, I can think of only one word (Beast), but for some reason the Mustang has it's own charm!! for decades it was described as the underdog, always short on power compared to GMs pony cars. Who won the war? last time i checked.. Camaros and Firebirds are extinct!!!(FACT)
Keep in mind that Mustangs have 4.6l, old ones have 5.0s to compete against 5.7l and 6.0l, I think GM should be ashamed to have there (Gigantic engined cars) compared to Ford's much smaller engines. Mustangs are as heavy as Camaros, yet they can keep up with 'em. (Camaro LS1 Z28 manual 1/4: 13.8) Road & Track 05 Mustang GT auto 1/4: 13.6) Motor Trend
I can attest from personal experience that my 05' stang with the mods listed below falls short of the 2005 GTO i'm driving with a stock 6.0 (vette) motor in acceleration and handling. I have never had either to a track for times, but honestly feel a big difference in power and torque. I have markers on back roads that I like to see how fast I can get to when i pass them and the 6.0 liter surpasses my stangs speeds with ease. I love the stang, but there is no replacement for displacement. This same motor with a few hundred less pounds in a vette would be a tough customer for any car to beat. Definately beyond a 4.6L with bolt ons. But, any car can be beat at any time if the driver screws up! There will always be someone faster so just enjoy your car as is, and be happy with what you got! Don't take this the wrong way, the mustang is great in its own way, but imagine a 6.0 liter in a new stang?

There is no point to this arguement I mean come on it takes chevy a 6.0 to out do a 4.6 but yet with a few bolt ons we are right back up there with them??? All these people saying you need Nitrous , supercharger and turbos to keep up with these vettes is rediculous i guess becuase i have beaten 2 of them on the street and im not "magazine racing" i wanted to put my .02 in...I beat them on MOTOR...no forced induction what so ever...
you guys are right about the engine size's( there is no replacement for displacement), But i want to hear what are these cars suppose to run. The Ls2 vette i hear is good for mid 12's, but thats it weighing in at 3150lbs. The GTO weighs in at 3650-3800, depending on models. I would think with the 500lbs disadvantage its going to be a low 13 second car, now why wouldnt a 05-07 Gt beat them with bolt ons. I have 2 bolt ons and im sure i can squezze a 13.0 out of it( got a 13.2@108 with a intake and tune). Im sure when i get my headers,catback,4.10's,and custom tune i will be able to beat any stock Ls2.

I have taken a few C6 allready with my current setup, with the new block and 10-12 psi and the Z06 will be next... The October MM&FF has a showdown of a Roush Stage 3 and a C6 Z51 and they were almost dead even...
Z51 400 hp 400 tq (Crank) Roush 415 hp 385 tq (Crank) + 400 pounds My car 425 hp 385 tq (RWHP) That is 500 hp / 450 tq (Crank) + 350 pounds
I am going back to the dyno on Wednesday with a couple other mods and should be at 435-450 hp and 400 tq to the rear wheels and 75 pounds lighter...
Bye Bye C6 Z51 hello C5 Z06, the final plan is 750 hp 675 tq (Crank) with forged internals and stroked to 5.0 and 10-12 psi and another 100 pounds off the car...

So what do you guys think it would take to smoke a C6 vette, without going the forced induction route? I think it should be our civic duty as mustang enthusiasts to aspire to be the top dog in the struggle for american muscle dominance. ( sorry if that was too much-gettin a little lit!)
If you're talking about just the 1/4, then I'd say go with gears, juice, and tires. If you want to beat it on the twisties as well, then you need all the above, plus you would have to convert your car into a vette. Lower it, and get all the suspension goodies that a vette has.

Pretty much, will be a forged and bored out 4.6 block and 12 psi... Steeda is going to prep the short block for me and I will install in my garage... Shortly after that in goes a 6 speed with aluminum flywheel and heavy duty clutch...
When I get done with this car it is going to be one bad ass mustang for all of us to be proud of...
These are the numbers I am shooting for...
675-700 RWHP without NOS (750+ crank HP) 750-800 RWP with 75 shot of NOS (The NOS is going in mostly for the bad ass factor...) (900 crank HP) 650-675 RWTQ (700 + crank TQ)
Skid PAD: 1.0G (Allready accomplished...) (FRPP/Steeda suspension and very good wheels - weight...) 0-60: 3.6-3.8 1/4 mile: 10.5 @ 125mph+ Braking 70-0 in less than 120 ft... (Brembos go in this weekend...) Top speed: 200mph (Don't know if I would want to do it, but she will be able to do it...) (Will require a front splitter, rear wing and a new hood to vent the pressure that builds up in our engine bays...)
The stock 140mph speedo is allready inadequate, I may need to source the Saleen 200MPH one as the GT500 only goes to 160...
