Just remember, the guys like me driving the C6 who will play are modded most of the time. My CAI and Long tubes/high flow cats stock exhust( sleeper) really surprises modded cars. But they are not set up for the 1/4 mile, traction is limited- but from a roll, we got ya. I wouldn't give up taking corners at about 1g (so much fun) to run the 1/4 mile faster. I just try to race from the roll. On my way to carlisle tonight for this weekends show.. The GT will be sitting home.

roll racing isn't racing. . .

it takes driving out of the equation

Very rare to meet at the light. usually on the road. Either way by the 1/4 mile, I'll be at 115 mph

One upside, it is sooo much cheaper to mod my Gt. The corvette tax sucks. I may have deeper pockets, but I don't want to empty them.

The C5 has 350 hp/375 tq, would think I would atleast be able to keep up with the 75 shot of Zex? I want to keep this car for a long time to come, so also look for info on how safe/reliable the long gevity with such a added mod.

I know the weight difference is hard to over come, and its also down to a drivers race.

you would smoke a C5 with a 75 shot. . . that would put you at 335 or so RWHP. . . mid to high 12's

I would go the supercharger route, if I actually always needed the power. Just need a 12 second shot once in awhile, but not all the time.

I don't like nitrous myself. When I get my new GT I'll focus first on traction issues then go FI. Vortech or Paxton.

Probably because if you install it wrong, you can damage your engine, it runs out unlike a cool air intake or sc. I like it though.

Comon guys, do you guys really think the new mustangs need FI to hang with the new C6. I was at the track the other night and i beat one every single time down the track(2006 C6 Auto). He was bone stock and was running any where from 13.9@103-13.5@106. He told me his best 60' was 2.0. I was getting 13.6@106-13.2@108.8 with 1.9 60's. I know the C6 are faster then our cars, but if you have full exhaust, intake, and tune you can take them. Our cars are better off the line then they are, mayb off rolls your gonna need a little more power. In the newest 5.0 mag or mmff the got the C6 12.59@112, thats with probibly way better then any of us are going to run it. Don't get me wrong i love and respect corvette's(My familys got a new Z06,07 C6,C4,and C2).

The Shelby GT500 does not have a snowballs chance in hell of beating the C6 in a strait race. For some odd reason the new Shelby may have 500+ horsepower, but it is slow. It may be because it's too heavy (especially in front) and the gears are too high. Not to brag, but I raced a new C6 several times in my Saleen S281 SC and we were always dead even. A few aftermarket mods and he would be in my rear view mirror.

Not sure where people are getting their info, but many have gone very low 12's in stock Shelby's, not many C6's have done so so the snowball must have landed in hell. Stop reading Car and Driver, they leave the traction control on...
