ORIGINAL: baddog671 Anthony, I think chroming your car is a bad idea. One, cost, ouch. Two, it would literally be a oven in the sun and you could only take it out in cloudy days(rain?). 3, youd kill someone. The sun would hit that, and everyone in the opposite lane would be blinded and wreck. 4, dont be stupid[slap] A better idea would be to powdercoat your car. And, if ur guy has the right material, they can powder coat a chrome color(looks exactly like it) and doesnt pit or anything for atleast 40 years.... yeah, i know! in all honesty, if i could afford to do it, it would be a show only car. def not a daily driver. just the idea is bad ass. i'm getting her done up in metallic black with metallic silver LeManns stripes with my own added twist!

I used the aircraft stripper for the first time tonight, worked excellent. It's a little pricey though, 6 bucks a can!!

Definatly a good way to eat out the paint though. I think for the hard to reach spots Ill use sand paper, or buy a small lil sand blaster. We also got an air sander to use for after the paints stripped off. Now the choice of primers...

Yeah, you have to use the thick kitchen rubber gloves and goggles while working with that stuff. Just rinse it with water and a scrub brush.

ORIGINAL: Saldana I'm pretty sure it doesn't promote oxidation other than the fact it may expose metal, I'm assuming actually "vapourizes" it to an extent, like alcohol... I suppose a decent example is comparing it to how bleach is to us. It "seeps" beneath the paint, and "lifts" it from underneath (Probably by forcing oxygen into and beneath the paint). That was a fun weekend. I used a brush, and occasionally it splattered on me. Suprisingly smolderingly sexy unique burning sensation best described it. It's a very effective way to get an aerodynamic finish for that desired performance in flight... from a typical dogfight to package transportation. It'll save on fuel.
