I was looking through MM&FF and saw a shop by me advertised and where they were selling shocks. It had the shocks for $650 and $630 to install them. Isn't that a little steep, or don't I know what it costs and work involved.

Many thanks to my sponsors: Diablosport, Bmr Fabrication, Art Carr, Mustangs Unlimited, Procharger, Port City Racing, and most importantly, my crew at KSS
It even says a 4 wheel alignment required, but not included in install price. I thought maybe it was for the shocks included, but they are $650 and install is $630..
I thought that looked high and emailed them to ask..

I can do them in an hour on a lift and 1 1/2 hours in my garage with a floor jack. I've done struts, camber bolts, rear dampers, springs all around, adjustable Panhard bar and HD Panhard bar brace and G-Trac on S197GT's in 3 1/2 hours in my garage. That money sounds high to me, of course if you came over I'd install your shocks for that price! 8^)
Cheers/Chip

Mods: Gave up trying to make it all fit, but ask if interested!
The job pays 2hrs for the rears and 2.5hrs for the fronts, figure 5hrs roughly at $75hr. $375 out the door labor. This does not include alignment.
2 Hours for the rears is absurd they are so easy you can most likley do both in an hour or less. The fronts on the other hand i can see getting 2.5 for.

I'm guessing k3 was citing the Mitchell guide, so of course it takes less time, but if that's what the book says, that's what they charge you for.
I took me a around 3 hours to do my rears (w/ springs) but that was the first time I'd ever seen a live axle up close, and I was going about it very casually besides.
$375 sounds right... as in correct, not as in just or moral. $630 is neither right nor correct.
I got my reply from "Paul's High Performance" Jackson Mi.
The Tokiko are 5-way adjustable shocks and require 7 hours to install front and rear along with set up for driveabilty. They are adjustable 5 ways so we adjust them to your needs.
7 hours is a LONG time, but heck. I hear it takes almost 10 minutes to adjust them.
