ORIGINAL: hamidlmt Ya know... I've never, ever thought of a Prius as rice. It's a damn green car... environmentally friendly. It does what it does, very well. They're becoming very popular here in Oregon. But, now I'm thinking... what would their relatively silent operation sound like through a fart can? SBD? ANd that is what was so weird about that particular thread LOL It should be about loving trees and holding hands, not racing vipers LOL!

if it is so "eco friendly" when they replace the batteries in these cars...where are they going to put them..in a dump and who is going to pay for all of that? i work for a doctor and he has one and brags constantly how good a gas mileage he gets...he asked me what i got in my mustang..told him i get 20 and could beat your ass on a straightway.

Jesse, I do not remember ever replying to your threads. But I must say that is one hot mustang there. Love those stripes. I think it is the first I have seen without the stripes going down the entire front fascia...I think? Anyway, NIIIIIIICE

"I plan on taking the prius to the track soon to see what it'll do in the 1/4. I've been reading up on how to launch it. This is what I've came up with as the best way to drag race a prius based on only what i've read: - Charge the battery to full by holding the gas and brake all the way down till the engine shuts off. - Launch the car in "B" mode because it will pre-load the engine to "launch" - Of course try to have as little fuel as possible I think I should be able to hit somewhere in the mid 17 second range. (hopefully) which is actually not bad." Classic! Any 5.0 could beat that pullin' a trailer! They don't top out at 108 mph either! I always wondered if the engine actually powers the drive wheels or just powers the electric generator, like a diesel locomotive? If so, adding hp will not do anything except give a full charge quicker... It just goes to show the human psyche. I'm amazed that in a Prius forum they're even talking about racing! They have brackets for any time range at the track so why not race it?
