i am not geting any fire to the cap. i replace the ignitor control unit but still no fire. i took the plug off and cranked the car and no fire so its something before teh control unit. what could it be? any suggestions???

what did you do to the car before this? (have you replaced your Pick Up Coil it's like 14 bucks at autozone)

yeah just replaced that. i also replaced the distributor cap and rotor. we put a screw driver in the center plug and no fire came out

Do you have a probe? (or voltmeter)

no.

pick one up and start poking at everything

what type of voltage am i looking for? where are the most common spots to check?
