Default 2.3 to v6 swamp

I have a 90 ranger thats im planning on swamping the v-6 out. wondering if there would be any gain to doing this?

the 6ers in the rangers in '90 were 177ci 2.9L OHV

they produced 140hp/170tq

I say get a Ford essex V6 block from a 99-04 V6 out of a junk yard thats been damaged or totalled from the rear end. You'll need basically every thing under the hood, the ecu, the tranny and whatever else is salvagable, because you're gonna have to remodify the whole car. Personally I say if you're gonna do a swap just upgrade to a 5.0L, because you're gonna have to sink the money boat in both situations to be able to mod the car to fit the engine.

way easier said than done. ive been to many junkyards, and ive only seen 2, 94+ models. one was fillet o' burnt, and the other one was wrecked in the front with half of the block smashed, and everything else salvagable was already taken.

mustangs of any year are extremely rough to come by at a junkyard, unless you live in a place where they are very plentiful.

supersixmotorsports.com they should have what you need, i would go with the essex casue the calogne block is weaker

Has ANYONE noticed the title to this thread??? He wants to SWAMP a V6?? They do make great boat anchors....especially from the Ranger....
