which wire did you cut on the plug and where did you get the 12v power from?

basically if you look at the clear box it has the 22 pin connector and the pins are labeled. i took pin 11 which origionally supplied the 12v constant and cut it like 4 inches away from the box. then i use a test light to find my switched 12v which was gray/yellow in the big 24 pin factory plug. ran a wire and connected the gray yellow to the yellow going to the peripheral box. that took care of my problem. im thinking about using a PTR7 and a relay to reset that wire when i get in the vehicle cause i do not like the fact of not being able to charge with key off.

well, so far so good... after this morning's p.i.t.a. head uint removal and 16-pin disconnection, the adapter hasn't reset yet, albeit, the car has only staid off a couple of hours at a time. The true test will be after it's sat overnight and i'll know tomorrow compared to my previous setup.

Vic I sent you a PM asking for your address and info to send you a replacement piece. I got several responses and they sent out replacements on Monday.

hopefully the new ones resolve the prob. i've ran into another one now with it not recognizing the ipod when it's connected every now and then. would have to reset the aux box to get it working again. maybe that's why the box stops working?

So this morning, i went to start my car and low-n-behold the ipod adapter still works! This is the first time in 3 weeks where i did not have to flip the dip-switches every morning to get it to be recognized again. So far so good, will continue testing.

since others have had good luck with the new box i went ahead and contacted peripheral electronics. since they are close to where i live i was able to go over there and meet with the guy who i guess made the fix. i let him swap the module and things were great. still have no issues and it still recognizes it everytime like clock work. the engineer was very knowledgeable and knew just what to do i was there like 30 mins total and he was able to swap it for me. Thanks to Jay. all is well and i guess this will be my last post on the ipod thread. good luck to all i think peripheral hit the nail on the head with this one. good stuff guys.

That is great news --- glad they are addressing the issue.
Strange thing is that it works in some mustangs and not on others.. perhaps a poll of radio model numbers should be added to this tread--

you couls also spend$20 at any bestbuy or circuitcity for a RF modulator. then you can have any additional audio source run through your factory radio.

(not every one has an ipod)

I have one but my neighbour has a no name brand.

Peripheral has the fix and has sent them to all that replied. The dension doesn't work on the new Ford other the through RF modulation. The Peripheral one lets you control, text and everything on the radio.
