Mine has stopped working....no aux radio on display. I do not want to have to remove/install radio everytime it is not working. I will call peripheral again. note: The ipod does display the peripheral logo.

I bought the DLO system from Best Buy for $100. You stick the adapter into the power plug on the dash and you adjust the swivels provided to the position you want. Then set the DLO to an obscure FM signal. (89.1) in my case, then preset a channel on the FM2 band to 89.1 and your done. The IPOD rolls through the system. The only draw back so far is, if you download an "oldie" the volume is not the same as modern digital music. So you lose some volume. Anything modern rips the speakers apart. Plus you have the Ipod at eye level straight out of the dash. You can manipulate the IPod while motoring.

oooook.... so it's not tomorrow yet, decided to run outside to see if it's still working and it's not. "No Aux Audio" is displayed. I decide to qwik-fix it by running the wires up through the armrest and having the ipod adapter sitting inside the armrest. When it decides to stop working, i open the box, flip the dip switches a few times (without having to remove the console or radio), it gets working again and hooray. A qwik-fix til a real fix takes place i guess.

Have you tried disconnecting the 16-pin connector? I heard PIE had the same issue with the FRD04-AUX--- when the 16-pin connector was disconnected the radio always recognized the aux.. you should try that with this part and let us know. (speed volume and dimmer may not work)...

Sorry guys have patience please. Peripheral will make this right that have been doing Ipod intergration for a couple years very successfully. This was the first shipment of brand new product. There was extensive testing done on these cars but they didn't have access to them for days at a time. They would test them for several hours. I am under the understanding that now that they rented a car they should be able to duplicate the problem and have a solution soon. They can send new units to the dealers you purchased them from or you can send in yours and have it reprogrammed. They are on top of this and will have answers very soon.

Disconnecting and reconnecting it does recognize the aux, but after a while, it stops.

how did you get the adapter into the armrest; the wiring harness cable that it connects to does not appear to be long enough to reach the armrest. let me know as i talked to peripheral yesterday and they told me the same thing - they are working or a solution but that will still take some time. thanks

i didn't think it did either, but i kept pulling and it kept coming out with out any resistance. Either the guys that wired my car accidentally gave it too much or i'm messing something up, but it appears nothing has gone wrong... yet...

Anomalus1, Sorry if i did not make a clear request.. what i'm asking is to permanently disconnect the 16-pin connector from the radio-- leave the 24-pin in place-- test it in this matter to see if the radio continues to recognize the PXDP2. Then advise those of us in the waiting! Thanks

i also understand what you are asking and would only consider this a temporay solution - for the price we paid for this piece + - $185 i expect it to work correctly as i do utilize the speed volume control- really comes in handy with a convertible with the top down due to all the other noise we get from outside sources. strange that these manufacturers were not aware of this problem with the earlier issues.

CDW63 The part number is PXDP2 and PXH2FD1. They are brand new and only started shipping last week.
vicmeldrew I stated before they did hours of testing on these cars but didn't have the opportunity to have them overnight. Ford doesn't provide any assistance in making these adapters. They have to reverse engineer them completely and make them interface into a Sat. or CD changer port. Things the radio wasn't made to do. There will always be little issues that have to be ironed out in the beginning. They will have a solution soon and take care of the issues that anyone has had. Sorry for the inconvenience.
OK, I just spoke to Peripheral. They said they were able to learn some things in the Mustang they rented. They are going to do some more testing in the next few days to make sure it is good. He also said in the mean time if you want to connect the interface box to Accessory and not to Constant 12v it would cause the box to power up new everytime you start the car and it would recongnize it. The only negative to that is it won't charge the ipod when the car is off. Not a big deal for me because I never leave mine in the car. Apple even tells you not to leave it in the car beacause the heat and the cold will shorten the battery life.
Vic, You are right-- the suggestion made was a temporary solution-- if it works it would be more convenient than disconnecting and reconnecting. - I heard PIE's auxiliary input had the same issue with Mustangs and disconnecting the 16-pin cable resolved the issue until a permanent solution was available. Do you think Peripheral knew there was a problem with Mustangs? I don't think so, otherwise they would have omitted the Mustang. We know this is not what you and others have paid for, however you guys can go back to the store and request a refund or wait until a permanent fix is available-- I'm sure the dealer from which you purchase this part will work with you. Fact is, the pxdp2 does work in some Mustangs but has this issue in others.
There is no need to panic-- i'm yet to see first generation product that was problem free -- there is always some unforeseen issue and the PXDP2 is not the exception. Lets wait and see what Anomalus1 finds out.--
