I already have my 4 speed from the early 80s late 70s pinto but it is not seeming to fit on my driveline.. what kind of driveline will fit in length and the tranny... this is on an 88 mustang 2.3... thanks guys

what year is the tranny??does it have a differant size spline, or is the driveline too long??i did an 86 4spd and it fit no problem, but if its a slightly older trans it might need a diff spline to slide in the tailshaft of the trans, when i did a v8 swap on the same car i had to get a new spline and used a explorer driveline that is adjustable, the problem really is a pre 79 trans is gonna be differant length and spline size i think, its either have a custom drive line made or get a 79 or newer 2.3 4spd trans

i am really not sure of the year is there any way to tell on the tag or something? the driveline is just to long.. the tranny will not fit into the spline but about one inch... someone told me to get a 23 spline.. but i just figured a driveline out of a nother car would fit...
