05/06 GT Manual vs. M3

Anybody run with one?

What was the outcome?
Were you stock or not?

Just curious, as they have better 1/4 ET's and trap speeds, so I'd think
the m3 would pull, but I'd imagine minor mods to the GT (Intake/Tune) would make
them pretty close.

from a stop, i think itd come down to drivers race. the GT has more torque, but the M3 has more hp. so, i give edge to GT. from a roll, M3 all the way in my opinion.

From a stop anything can happen--equal drivers the Gt should jump him, gears,cai,tune I could see a GT takeing hime from a roll

Um what!!!!! The M3 will SMOKE a GT even from a dig. The new M3's have like 330 horse. Obviously neither of you have driven one. Hell I'd say even a '95 M3 will give an 05/06 GT a run and those are only 300 or 315 HP.

Equal drivers the M3 would beat the 05-06GT from a dig or a roll...

O and did I forget to mention the M3 has variable valve timing? Definitly M3.

Thanks guys, I know the M3 will take the stock 05/06 GT from a dig and surely from a roll too since
it has more hp (and that's what matters as speeds climb) yet weighs several hundred pounds lighter.
As they have 0-60 times of roughly 4.7 seconds and 1/4 times of low 13's @ 106 mph.
Both faster than stock MGT's.

BUT, I was curious if anybody has ACTUALLY raced one and what the outcome was.
If they ran with or beat the M3 from a roll or stop, what mods you had to do it.
Obviously a s/c would make the GT smoke the M3, but was wondering if minor bolt ons
like the intake, exh., tune, and such was enough.

no ive never driven one. or ridden in one. im going by numbers alone since ive never ridden in an M3. but they ARE an inline-6, correct ?? which gives the M3 probably a good torque number also. i just thought of that. SORRY. i was mistaken then. lol im not perfect.
