I have an 88 2.3 that we race on an oval dirt track, we started with fuel injection and switched to carb that I did not like so we went back to fuel injection. Now the problem it won't run! we replaced the MAF sensor the computer, fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs. We have spark at the plug and coil but it won't fire. It started to run for us yesterday but after about twenty minutes in idle it will stall, also when it did run we couldn't rev it upbecause it would stall then. Please send any info or suggestions I will try anything right now.

I was told that to, but this one did. I know the owner before me had the engine rebuilt at a shop but it was suppose to be the orginal. Could I be looking at a different motor then?
One more question where can I find the VIN on the motor itself so I can tell exactly what year that is? Because I know we changed a MAF on this engine.
i had the same problem with my 2.3! i was told that it was the TPS (Throttle Positioning Sensor), yours could have went bad when you switched it back over to fuel-injection!
