Default A Question about Brakes????

I know one of the Gurus must have an answer. I was wondering if the brake pads for the GT and V6 are the same. I know the front brakes on the GT have bigger rotors but I don't know how this affects the pad. I have a set of OEM front and rear pads and was wondering if they would fit my car.

I know Afixer or Rygen must know if I can use these when the inevitable brake service comes up. Thanks,
Phil Taylor

The pads are the same for the V6 and GT. Ford does have a different # for 05 and 06 models though .

yes to conferm pads, dust plate and caliper are the same. the only diff is the ofset bracket and the rotor. this is such a cheap upgrade. get some rotorpros drilled and slotted rotors about 250 and then all you need is the oFfset bracket part # 4R3Z2B292BA list price is $ 32.28 each.

You are correct ! We are currently putting together a V6 to GT front brake kit using Power Slot rotors, Hawk pads and Ford caliper brackets.
Afixer, you may be able to help out here. Ford has a prod. part # change for the bracket in 8-03-05. They go from the 2B292 to 6R3Z-2B134-B.
I don't get that..... the calipers, hubs and knuckles are all the same p/n for both years.

Great, so it sounds like the pads I have can be used to replace the ones on my V6. Thanks, I appreciate the info.
