Default What can we beat??

Hey there fellow mustangers, as we are related I know you guys will give it to me straight, no fluff. As I'm new to this place I am still learning the ins and outs but as I read more and more on these pages I am learning that anybody can beat anything if it's modded out enough. A skateboarder can beat a z06 if hes juiced up enough (he he). Every time I go to the store there is some fool grinning at me like he wants to race, or maybe he is just catchin the vapors over my stang. (yeah that must be it) But it seems like you never can tell if the local civic ricer has 10k under his hood or he is just looking to test his skill.....So I guess what I am thinking is,,, who can
I/we( fellow 05/06 Gt stangers)beat?????? I mean straight stock, who do we strike fear in the hearts of and who should we fear? (well, we are mustang owners so we fear nobody but still) So I will list some cars below, with numbers beside them, feedback is cool and most times pretty funny but the main thing I want is a "yes" or "no" beside the number that goes with the car I have listed. I know someone can be modded and turboed out, etc, etc and I guess you gotta take your chances but lets assume it is stock for stock can we beat the cars below? Don't care if it's different types of cars or 2 seater vs 4 seater. Just an opinon if you think we can beat these cars..Oh yeah, both cars have good drivers, neither better than the other.. Thanks for taking the time to read and answer. Wing and louvers going on next week, will have pics afterwards.

The cars-----Remember, stock to stock. anser yes, no or maybe

#1 350z
#2 V6 honda accord newer model (the vtec v6 coups are light and quick)
#3 Nissan Maxima any
#4 Mitsu 3000gt
#4 any vet less z06 03,02,00,99
#5 any older Mustang thats not a cobra be it 2004, 1999 2000, etc
#6 evo 8
#7 any older cobra 2000,2001, 1997 1999
#8 camaro any year
#9 trans am any year
#10 porshe, 944,928 or any 911 thats not a turbo

I just want an idea of who to keep an eye out for until I get modded out.

One more thing, I don't know much about horse power except the more the better but if I get a dyno test and it reads 430 hp Should I feel like am billy bad ass or should I feel like it's a good start??

Default RE: What can we beat??

EVO MR would be out of the class from a dig, from a roll itd be close. Also i ran a 13.29 100% stock (12.97 with ram air, MAF, and exhaust) in my 2001 trans am, ive yet to see an 05 stang run that stock.

Also, stay away from a saleen s351... that would just be funny because hed be 15 car lengths ahead of you, and possibly still spinning his tires.

Also, not sure bout a camaro SS, but im sure they are faster than the trans am's beause they weigh less.

Assuming pure stock:

Mitsu GT VR4 - Driver's race
C5 Vette, auto - Close, but the Vette should win.
C5 Vette, manual - Stay away
C6 Vette, manual - Stay away

i beat a 100% stock 99 vr4 in my v6 mustang at the track. They weigh in at over 3800 lbs, they stand no chance, unless you are racin them to 30mph.

93-97 Camaro/Trans Ams had the LT1. A stock GT "should" be able to take them.
98-2002 had the LS1, which was highly underated from the factory, most likely because they did not want to hurt Vette sales.

I had a 98 Camaro SS with just a few mods and a stock GT would come close imo. The LS1s made more power stock, and the cars were lighter..

2001-2002 Camaro/Trans Ams made ever more power than the 98-2000, so I'd stay away from them, unless you are modded.

Keep in mind how long the aftermarket has been around for those cars.

Check out ls1tech.com for worlds of info. Cam only cars with 415-430 RWHP.

I killed me a Camaro SS twice the other day. I don't know what year, but I'd guess within the last couple years of it's production. 2000-2002...

And if my memory is correct, the Porsche 944 is junk. Unless there is a 924 or something...
