Just wondering what you folks consider "driving hard," and what you consider "normal use".

LOL. That sounds like fun, fellas. And your car doesn't object to this treatment?

Thanks for the replies everyone. So what is it that causes these cars to break?

Actually nevermind. I'm gonna start a new thread on that question.

For 5 speed cars, if you actually use the clutch, it's driving normal.

For my car, it's not driving it hard unless I leave off the 'brake and yank the front end.

see i break it down into 3 categories

normal driving (shifting at or under 2k)

aggressive driving (cruising at 2k - exhaust loud as can be - shifting at 3k)

crazy driving (full throttle shifting at no more than 5k)

only time ive pushed the 302 with 154,000 miles past the 5k point was i wanted to see how fast i could go in 3rd. well i hit 115mph at 5500 in 3rd with 3.27's and 26" tires

prob could have hit 120 before the redline but like i said.. high miles and high miles + high shifting = disaster

weak sauce, i shift my 95 w/156000 miles on it at around 6500 on a regular basis. well racing anyway. she tells me she likes it. so i keep on giving it to her just the way she likes it. in the red!! hehehe nothing broken yet... wait, i guess the dead aode in the garage would count as broken. yeah, but thats why i got the heavy duty t-5 now. love bangin through those gears

i shift around 2500 on regular driving and 5500 when driving it hard... usually floor it 3-4 times up to 4th gear on my way to work and back.

Well I only get my car out on the road every two months or so and in three days I roasted my rear tires. It's a buid up of a matter of time when I just need to take it out and let it ripp then lock it down! When I drive it daily I will probably ripp it a few times a day 5.5 thousand otherwizes babie it. It's not fun scrapping assfault off my tips with a ice scraper.
