351W Engine Factory

Hey guys I was just wondering if any of you have bought an engine from the engine factory or have heard anything about it. I was looking into buying this 351w fuel injected engine from there and was wondering if these guys are legit.
I plan on swapping this into my '90 gt.

looks like they went a little soft on a few hard parts to me for 7k

they are gonna sell you a motor for 7 large with a nodular iron crank and hypereutectic pistons? save yourself some money and build it yourself. almost half of that 7 grand is labor. you'd be better off getting a long block from world or chp. pm me if you need addys.

actually i was looking at same engine and added up everything it comes with
and they are only charging about $1,000 above parts cost.
$7,000 isn't just for long block, it's for true "crate engine", all that little shyt like
injectors, flywheel, oil pan, ditributor and more adds up quick.

and for non-boosted, mid compression applications, hypert. pistons are actually just as good
as forged and have a tighter fit.

To answer your question about the engine factory. I look for companies that
have been in business for at least 10 if not 15 years, and if they've survived that
long they must be doing something right. Engine Factory says they've been
around for like 30 years.

You could always have em add forged piston for a few hundred $ more probably

I wouldnt waste the money. I was going to have a 418W built, fully forged, AFR 225's, Canton Pan, Valve Covers, Manifold, Water Pump, Timing Chain, etc. etc. etc. It was basically a crate motor w/ out the carb and dizzy. For under 7 grand and it would of made tremendous power over that thing.....

Its just not worth it IMO to spend that much for a 351W.

Actually it is NOT a waste of money. For that 7K your block is honed, blue printed ...Broke in live run and documented with a supplied video. No guessing, professional true and tried parts that work well together. With a properly prepaired block your engine temp is cooler, you save on hundreds of hours of shopping for this and that,putting on, adjusting, trying,taking back, researching, re-applying, checking, breaking in correctly,tuning, calabtrating.

All belts,carb,flexplate,alt.,pumps...NOTHING is left to do because it is not only ready to drop in , it has already been run for 40 minutes. Sit back and watch your own documented tape of your engine build and run in. I have not found a single crate motor any where around the world that comes close to this class. This is the only turn key crate motor I could find.

Turn key means turn key...the others may say "well...of course you have to put on your own water pump and alt and compressor and pump and intake and carb and belt and air cleaner and distibutor..." LOL

I am like many others that want perfection and aww from my engine. If I am going to spend 3k then have to get 2k more in parts and spend months figuring that I Might not be as good as I want to be...but hey it looks good, tisk...forget that. The Engine is the heart of the car...it takes observers breath away when done right...and lasts for hundreds of thousands of miles when balanced and honed properly. I would rather the Pros do my Engine, forget my Ego here and use my time on the car and chasis and interior and brakes and relatively non-bank busting Ego experiments.

Go to The Engine Factory web site. Learn and look for yourself. Check out the videos and feedbacks reviews...call and talk, its free , all of it. Don't take my word and don't take the word of some-one who feels a 1K is worth all of the effort that you must go through to save a buck and not even come close to perfection.

Yes I have an Engine Factory engine. The response I get is silence and wide open eyes.

Its honestly a little high for the components you get. I priced them out at what you could buy the parts and machine work for through a few local machine shops, jegs and summit and it comes to just less than $5500. Yes it is turn key but, it isn't that great a deal. You can get the same quality buying a stock 351w roller shortblock from Ford, installing the cam, heads and intake, along with your accessories. Before you by something that is bascially a stock shortblock with bolt ons check out these other links.

You should also look at Ford Racings crate motor if you want a drop in motor. There are other companies that offer crate motors. Most of the ones advertised are stroker set-ups.

Yes! Very well put.

I am paying some-one 1500 more than that to do all the work correctly. That also includes a aluminium serpentine system with a new ac compressor. I want to use 89 octane gas a , a stroker is not my desire.

Not every-one has the confidence or desire to build the rest of a 4000 dollar investment, finding and buying the rest and trying to learn. We mostly all have the ability, I am refering to the actual level of mechanical knowledge that some of you have is not known to all of us. (I wish) I agree with you. I would put the rest together if I knew it would be top notch.

This is what I got for some-one else labor. By the way A stock block is not Honed and Balanced and level decked from the factory (correct me if I am wrong...pretty sure)

I can see however after recieving the Engine that the front pully system type stuff looks easy to install as well as heads and intake. I just didn't know the right combo of things that go together. If I had your knowledge...yes do it your self as stated above .
