Hey everyone i'm super pissed because i was up on the highway tonight and got a ticket for racing. I was racing an 05 GTO and the cop got both of us. The ticket is 298.00 and 6 points. The cop said i was honest so i can probably get them to do something, but with my driving record i don't believe i can accomplish anything without a lawyer. THIS SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

My buddy with a 383 Camaro got arrested last night for racing and had his car impounded. It was on the most heavily patroled stretch of highway in the area and everyone knows it. He had to pay $200 to get his car back and he still needs to have his lawyer fix the ticket.
To add insult to injury, the cop told him that he had never seen an F-body lose so badly to a Fox body.:(

1) There are plenty of educated stupid people out there.. And I think I've found one..
Educated stupid people. Right
Ok Jr., let me break it down for you nice and slow AGAIN..
I think we all know 'that guy' or 'that girl' that has strived very hard to obtain very high levels of education.. And yet that same person can't cook an egg, or read a road map, or back up a car or find the on switch on a vacum cleaner.. Are you getting my drift or do I need to go on.. Well, if you need more examples I can post later for you..
On the other hand we all know 'that guy' or 'that girl' who have just about no education.. And yet they can rebuild a motor, or build a deck, or rewire a house or tell you every name of each and ever weed in your back yard..
I'd venture to say your one of the non-smart ones.. Don't beat your self up though.. There are lots of people in your very shoes.. I'm sure you'll find a wife some day who is just like you.. You'll have kids, work your jobs and just have to eat out every time you want eggs.. Don't hate it, embrace it.. Its how you are..
I personally am flattered that you opted to put me on your sig.. I feel honored.. But, jokes kinda on you for not understanding what I said.. But what eva!

Mr. Twigbert, you beat me to it!:D
I think it's odd that someone who doesn't even own a Mustang, yet has over 6000 posts on a Mustang forum, is telling other people to "Get a life". Or that he's suggesting that anyone who owns a fast car is compensating for a small penis. Or that Street Racing is terrible, though he admits to doing it himself, and in fact confines most of his 6000+ posts to a street racing forum.
The fact is 2000si was going out of his way to be an asshole to YellowCobra, but then lacked the balls to admit that he was doing just that ...
You know, 2000si, grandstanding, attention-gettting, immature behavior is much more closely linked to feelings of inadequacy than owning a fast car...;)

The cop was in a marked car(west allis cop) on the side street i believe just about to start clocking. Thats why he didn't know how fast we were going. He got me and the other car at the same time. Did i leave anything out?

Those comments were unnecessary and uncalled for, 2000Si.
He is owning up for his mistake. He didn't complain that he got the ticket, he didn't call the cop any derogatory word. He merely posted that he got caught street racing and that it sucks. Way to be a complete dick about it.
PS- apparently you suffer from amnesia. Let me refesh your memory. 2000Si vs 3rd Gen Firebird (http://www.mustangforums.com/m_1343381/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm#1343381).
Way to be a hypocrite.
How am I being a hypocrite? I never said I DIDN'T race, I just said my racing is few and far between... and if I had gotten caught I wouldn't be sitting here all pissed off at the cops complaining on a board because I did something stupid.
I just said I'm smart enough to not get caught, the maybe twice a year I actually do play around a little on a deserted highway or two lane road outside of town. He says he's screwed because of his past driving record. Wouldn't that make you stop and think "hmmm well my driving record sucks, so maybe I shouldn't be racing."
Go ahead and give the guy sympathy for all I care. But get off my ass because I don't see the need for it. It's apparent he'll never learn until he loses his license for a year or more, pays insane fines and possibly ends up in jail.

Think again buddy, I'm not trying to be a d*ck so dont think that, :). Anyways, me and my wife were cruisin on the interstate at about 85 (speed limit is 70), we werent racing just cruisin to the house, she just got off work. Out of nowhere thiis State Trooper pulls onto the interstate from an embankment, I guess he was runnin radar and was getting ready to move somewhere else, and as he was pullin out me and my wife slowed down to about 75, but too late, he already clocked us. He passed me and got behind her, so I thought he got her, so as she is pullin over, he pulls onto the interstate and blocks the interstate so I have to slow down, and finally I just pull over. He reduced the ticket to $100.00, it was $225.00 I believe and he did that because my wife said that I was gonna have to work overtime to pay the tickets, that wasnt true, but it worked. And then after I told him I worked for the Sheriffs Office he extended the date we had to pay it and lowered each one another $50.00, so 2 tickets for 15+ over the limit and the total was only $100.00.

The dickwad still gave you a ticket after finding out you worked for the Sheriffs office? What a prick. I've got a buddy who's a County Mounty confinement officer and a volunteer for a fire department.
New Haven/Fort Wayne City cops won't mess with him. Sheriffs won't mess with him and State won't mess with him at all. They let him pass through a seatbelt check point when they pulled him for not wearing it after he showed his ID.

Your friends pretty lucky, if I get pulled over by a county officer, I wont get a ticket, and some city officers wont give me tickets, just depends who they are. I aint really important at work, so most city and state officers dont know me, I just sit in an office and answer the phones and radio, enter reports and stuff like that. I run drivers license' and tags, so if your ever coming through this part of TN and get pulled over, I might be runnin you for warrants and drivers license info. LOL

Probably, my sister in law has been working in the jail for about 5 years now, and she has tons of stories to tell, and they are quite funny. It's just common courtesty among police officers, you don't want to go making your fellow officer mad by writing him a ticket now do you?

Hate to see you get a ticket; but look at it another way and it will make you feel better. We have had so many fatalities here in Florida from street racing, that where I live, the police have started taking the racer's cars - permanently. Now you are lucky for three reasons: 1. You didn't kill anybody yet, 2. You don't live here, 3. You still have title to your car (or is it the bank's?).
Stay safe!

Honestly, what is everyone mad about, if you speed and you get caught, than dont be mad you gotta ticket. I am a military police officer, and some of the excuses i get are crazy. i am not gonna make some excuse if i get caught speeding because i was!! I am not gonna say stop street racing, cuz people have been doing it since there were cars, people want that adreneline rush sometimes (myself including). so dont get mad at the police when you get caught. just stop if you dont want the possibility of a ticket.

I never get mad when I get a ticket (shouldn't'of put myself in that position) hell the last ticket I got I was going 170mph(my speedo was malfunctioning of course[8D] I was really doing 80mph) at 3:45am before I started to slow down, then about a mile down the road I get pulled over[sm=bustedsign.gif] and the cop's like "Do you have any idea what I clocked you at?[sm=bicker.gif]" so I just told him that depends on where you clocked me at? He says about 1 mile down, so it tell him 150mph and he says 142mph[sm=oopssign.gif]....He asked why I was in such a rush, I told him I had just got done working on car and was just testing it out[sm=gears.gif], he told me I picked a right time to do it(not a single car passed by the whole time I was pulled over) and walked back to his car (w/my license and insu of course). He came back a couple minutes later and said my driving record was jacked up enough, so he would do me a favor and just put me down for 96mph since I was honest with him[sm=thanx.gif]... He just asked me to be careful and slow down for my own sake...First time that ever happened, haven't been so lucky since though...:(

most the time if you just say that you knew what you were doing and not try and make up some excuse, you will get off easier or all together. i once had a i once pulled a guy in a ranger doing 40 in a 25, his response was " its only a six". so i will never get a ranger now cuz i know they can only go to 40,lol

I think you got off easy. In New York, if you get caught in anything deemed "competition oriented," you loose the car! Yup, the cops will impound the car and auction it off to the highest bidder or the Police Department will adapt it with NY Blue Colors and make it a Highway Partrol car.
In addition, you DL get an instant year suspension after which you have to pay a $1000 fine to the DMV in Albany. Then, to top it off, you will be on the Red list with all insurance companies. Insurance skyrockets 4x.
I paid $3877 a year full coverage. I would cry if I had to pay $15k for insurance!
You are VERY lucky. You still have your Mustang.

Huh? First off, street racing is not six points here. It's 4 points, 2 for the speeding and 2 for the reckless driving ticket that you may or may not get. I never tried to make myself out to be high or mighty, I'm just stating the obvious. He's got a horrible record and still continues to rack up the points. You'd think this guy would be smart enough to think "hey... I don't need to prove anything, I have a cobra."
"But, I have a Cobra. It's made to be raced!" THIS goes back to what I said earlier that Mustangmafia has a problem with. The cars are built to be raced, that's their only purpose. voila.
I'm not fronting, I'm just telling it like it is. If you can't handle the truth, the door is to your left. You can stop fronting on me for not giving the guy who doesn't learn from his mistakes hell for continually making them.
Why am I looking on this forum? I've explained that various times, I'll leave it to you and your brilliant searching ability to go find it, because I don't have to answer to you, and I don't feel like explaining why I'm here yet once more.

Whats this with church? I'm an athiest, so quit your rambling crybaby. "oh boo hoo nobody believes I have what I have!" Hey look no one really cares! I don't want or need a V8. I enjoy my gas mileage in my daily driver and winter beater, which also happens to be the only car I want or need.
I don't believe it. If you think the only reason to have a V8 or to street race is to compensate for a small penis (a quaint theory in and of itself), why do you have 6,000+ posts in a Mustang forum dedicated to street racing? I seriously gotta know![&:]

first of all i don't need any sympathy from anyone. I will get a lawyer and try my best. The cop said i was honest so most likely go in there and tell them how stupid i was and maybe they'll do something, but on the other hand my driving record is crap so they probably won't. Thats why i need a lawyer. Yeah i'm never racing on hwy again i'll just go up there to cruise and if someone wants to race will set a spot away from the highway. I think a great spot would be right out 2000si's house(dick). Everyone is right i know i did something wrong and illegal, but if you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all, thats what my mom always says.

Hey I know a guy who drives a Green and Grey 5.0 who would be happy to take your Cobra off your hands. Maybe then he will stop trying to take mine. :D If that doesn't work maybe we could disconnected some of your spark plugs or remove the supercharger. LOL! Dude sorry bout the ticket. 1st for that asshat Si2000: Karma is a bitch.
2nd, for the rest, and I don't say this lightly, but with compassion for my fellow addicts: It's all about judgement, folks. I've owned 5.0s for the last 25 years and I just added a 4.6, so I'm not gonna preach. I am guilty and probably also lucky. It's all about picking your spots.
My nephew who is 22 has already totalled two of his ricemobiles and lost his license for at least the next 5 years because he just has no restraint whatsoever. He's a dumbass, and he doesn't belong on the road, and I'm glad he's not. In his latest escapade, he totalled his car and a BMW with a family on board trying to race at 80 mph in the bus lane of a resort town where it's pretty common knowledge that the traffic and the lights are so bad that to get to 35 mph legally is an accomplishment.
The more you street race, the more your odds with the law and with a worse fate diminish quickly. Stoplight encounters up to 60 mph are far safer in both regards than highway runs, IMO. You screw up at 40 MPH, you have messed up cars and you might hurt someone; you screw up at 90 MPH, and there won't be much to scrape up afterwards of either you or the family you hit. Know your road, know where the next light is, know where another car will pull out, and know how the cops hang around. Be safe. Cars are alot of fun, but street racing is not worth maiming someone or yourself. It's not worth wrecking a nice car over, and it's not worth losing your license either.

due to a paper work snaffu, i have temporarily lost my privelage to drive my stang. In the last week I have learned to appreciate it a lot more. I don't think I will ever street race again. But then again, who knows....
but seriously, be safe. I know that I will NEVER EVER hwy race EVER. I will race out of a red light up to 50-60. I guess that on a ticket, or impound paperwork, a hwy race and a street light drag are equal, but as stated above, the outcome of both could be very different.
I will say though, the more of you asshole, Cobra drivin fuggers that get caught street racing because your penis is small, and you need to make up for it....the higher insurance will be for everyone, the more the cops will harass anyone driving a stang, and the worse off we all look.
I am not trying to be an ass, or hypocrit, but seriously, it affects us all.

That all depends on how much OVER the limit he was clocked at for the tickets. But if he had 7 tickets in two years of driving then there's still a few of them on his permanent record.
