Default GT hood scoop on V6

I've got an 01 V6 that I've had for a while now. When the 2003 V6's came out with the GT hood scoops for the pony package I was pretty jealous. What is the best way to go about getting a GT hood scoop put on my 01 V6?

You do know the scoop is not operational, right? If your gonna get the scoop pay the extra money and get a shaker system. They cost about $1200...and you can either use the stock hood and cut a hole in it or you can spend about $700 on a new hood with the hole already in it. But I wouldn't get a fake hoodscoop added aftermarket.

PS. If you just HAVE to have the fake one call your local ford dealership and ask them.

Just to give you some insight...the scoop can be pain in the ass when washing it. Water likes to get trapped up in the honeycombs. After you dry the whole car and let it sit for a couple hours you look and there is a nice water stain running from the scoop all the way down the hood. Drives me nuts!! Sorry had to vent...lol

Don't forget to swap out the side scoops too.

I remember seeing a white late model V6 like mine. It had a black GT hood scoop like the one you linked. It looked pretty sweet.

I'm definately going to have it professionaly installed, I was just wondering if it was the same scoop that comes factory on the GTs.

All you need to do it take a few paper towels to the honeycomb stuff and it all gets sucked up. Its an easy fix.
