Where do you get a free trial of photoshop?

Was looking through the photoshop imagaes and thought it would be pretty cool to try some of my own, but I need to know where to get a free trial of photoshop, how much it is to buy, what version is the best and any other pointers you can throw in...

adobe.com has photoshop for download with a 30 day trial. Its a couple hundred bucks to buy, or a student discount can get it for less than 1/2 the price.
Like most people here, they probably get it on a p2p program for free, but im not going into that. I have a legal copy
