i was looking into get headers. what is the best for performance and horsepower gains. i always heard long tube were better but my 5.0 friend says the long tubes are goin to burn out my spark plugs. i have a 1998 2v 4.6

better for what?? 


Long = better tq in low rpms


shortys = better hp in the hi rpms


mids = (well, I think you can figure that one out) 


so it depends on your intended use..... 


oh, and regarding your spark plugs....if they burn out 1 or two months before you thought they were...is it really going to make that much of a difference?

I'd say go with the long tubes, the 4.6's don't have much for torque. They have plenty of top-end IMO..just lack torque.
