Correct, a single is not needed and from the look of the kit, easier on the install. A install with duals requires another Y pipe, and depending on what rear pipes you have and mufflers, it will require some...tweaking.

And yes, the V6 is running 11's consistantly.

You might want to edit that post, hehe.

Good to see you in the house :)

So can you describe the difference when at WOT vs the 100 shot Can you really feel a small, medium or big difference upper end say the last 1/8 :) and how about mid range RPM if you paid attention to on your launches and any other comments regarding performance you noticed. Looking foward to the dyno sheet and new dyon on a reg dynojet and your further comments in the weeks to come.. I am dying to see a 1/4 mile run!!! and what the ET will be, I saw you mention HP&TQ by 28-2900 nice!

I won't be going f/i if i even do until next year and if the prices are down on this i will get it for sure, but if not im gonna go x-charger because i really do not need 300+whp lol. I also want everything to be as reliable as possible. Somebody said this would be safer than s/c...how so?

I'm thinking 12s easy. Maybe mid 12s with his setup. At only 8.5PSI.

Rygen, re-read the first line of your last post, heh.

Actually, when I floored it, it pulled similiar to the juice. Almost as hard, but instead....it keeps pulling!!!! So on the 2nd 1/8, this thing will pull like a banshee. While my juice would still provide some power, but not like this!

I will have to launch at a lower rpm, and practice. It spins like mad on the launches. I really need to work on that. I think I will be forced to get DR's.

Oh yes differently in the twelves Mike has done it 12.60's I believe at 9psi but also remeber he has a stick and poss 4K-5K launch and the car has to hook and Rygens and yours are setup good so should be able to hook without a problem with DR's. The thing I want to see also is Mike did it with I think 3.50's or 3.55's and Rygns has 373's like to compare the slips 1/8, 60' 1/4 and esp the trap speed vs the 350's to see how the 373's work and also see real world non pro times and on an auto. Even if for some reason Rygn was to only run low 13's on his first outing we know he will be capable of 12's with practice on launhces. Just there are some differences here that will be interesting to see.

SC needs HP to make HP, I.E. engine needs to spin up to generate boost, thus harder on the engine. Turbo uses exhaust gases to make boost, does not use HP to make HP. TC makes boost at a lower RPM as well and makes more power at less boost, so you do not need to run over 10lb of boost to get significant gains. This should also help:

http://american-speed.com/****/forums/showthread.php?t=117

http://american-speed.com/****/forums/showthread.php?t=119

Keep in mind that the newer turbo systems have come a long way. I have NO turbo lag on my system. It comes on instantly and at 2900 rpm which is sooner than the SC's for our cars except the EE.

Thanks. The juice has been uninstalled and I will not be putting it back in the car. LOL. It was part of the evolution, I am finished with it now.

Ok, I'm no expert...but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night! SCs are crank driven so they take HP to spin. So if they make 350RWHP, the engine is actually putting out like 380 or more, I don't know the exact figures. Also, there's something about the turbo keeping back pressure on the valves. I don't really understand it all but it's supposedly true, turbos are easier on the engine. Maybe someone smart will expand upon my feeble attempt at an explanation.

Wow Rygen, I figured you were up to something.

I tell you its been awsome to watch your car turn into the beast it is today, and surely has shown me what our cars can do. I'm very happy that you are one of the first few to be fortunate anough to have something so great. Get those vids up asap and some dyno sheet scans.

Hmmm. Now I'm stuck, Vortech SC or Powerhouse Turbo!?!?!

I'm really no expert, but I'll chime in with my even more feeble attempt at an explanation...

The supercharger is kinda like this...

And, the turbocharger is more like this...

Now, back to your regulary scheduled kick ass turbocharged thread!

Holy crap rygen, congrats man.

I'm sold as far as the powerhouse turbo goes. If someone is going to do a group buy, count me in.

They will ship to CA, right? I'll need to find someone to do the install (unless it's something I can do...... riiiiiiiiiiiiight.........).

So we're looking at around $4500 for everything? Then another $1000 or so for installation?

I'm not sure if its CA legal, I think it's 49 state legal. But I'm sure they will ship you one if you buy it. I would give them a call or email them about it.

I have contacted 5 manufacturors about CA smog legal versions, it has been a few months but this was their replys when I did

whipple- no plans for a V6 model
xcharger- will have CA smog version
vortech- has 05 smog version available now - 06 needs certified and in the process
procharger- will not be smog legal for CA
powerhouse turbo- will not be smog legal for CA

if there becomes enough interest I personally believe this will change, if it hasn't already, sure cut the options for us CA folks, and most suppliers of ALL parts will sell them to you even if they are not smog legal, part of their disclaimer.
