Wow....I was sitting back and just listening...but have to say something now.....163dB? No way.....the world record is 174dBa.....did you measure on the "c" scale where you have about a 50dB error margin? Wow.....getting deep in here....I have a great system and didn't have to spend an arm and a leg...and I know my limitations....it is not all about the bump....but rather clean power equals clean sound. My system is an AVIC-N3, Punch P4004, 2 P110S4, 4 pioneer 6x8 4 ways....no way near 130dB.....but crisp and clean.
wow..... turn the flames down..... It could have been an audio control meter, without being calibrated and set properly anyone that has competed for a while knows how much you can change a score with just turning a dial....
or maybe he is just being silly.... so i ask....163 DB where? (where as on dash, in the kick panel, port etc..) what meter?

Zook that JBL is massive, I kinda stopped paying atention to JBL car audio a while back, mistake on my part. Get 2 of those "Dual" 2-12" enclosures from best buy. 4-12's will definatly pound.

l7,mtx 7500 series and up,memphis there are tons to list
Those Mojo's are sick! 8500 MTX is disgusting, real amazing driver for the money. Sound much better than the 9500, and get nearly as loud. Type-R's are have always been a decent driver. I mean we could make a list 30 deep on good woofers under $300. Half of which are from small, hand made companies twice as good as any other name-brand driver out there.
Side note to Hiss, Zook, Sinister.
Guys I just thought of something new for our "Sticky Area". You cannot ask the questions "whats good for under $----." You have to find atleast 2 products your looking at and we'll compare them head to head and give you a recommendation. I mean him asking $300 isn't bad I guess, we have seen people say **** like "Whats a good "sub" for anything up to $800 thats my limit." But I mean really we get in fights with each other because, someone ask's a question, i'll suggest an MTX woofer, Hiss will suggest a Memphis. You know what I mean, people are asking questions that broad, theres not much we can do except suggest the woofer thats on our minds at the time. If one of these guys goes to a store the sales guy is going to suggest what 3 drivers tops to a customer. We have no perks so have them go buy a certain thing so these people asking questions need to come up with and do some of their own research and find out whats good out there, and if they are stuck between a few then we can help them out. And this goes along with our list of "Best Band for Buck Products list" we need to group together and make.

Definitely we need to make our own little stick ourselves, and put everything we want in it.
We can make the best "bang for the buck subs" and the best "bang for the buck amps" list and we can make like the best amp/sub list for the people the have unlimited cash funds.May be a cubic foot calculator.
id say the best bang for the buck sub i have seen so far is the american bass DX and XO line of subs. they will get as loud as a L7 if not louder and are cheaper the 15 lists for 180 bucks. and take only 300 watts to get them wangging. also they dont have a high failure rate like the L7s.
Good ideas, looks like we need to make another post though or someone will get pissed that were talking off topic, "In someones post that is just trying to find help and you guys ruin it with you BS'ing."
