i will always remember the night last summer when i was leaving denny's at 3am to go home. an srt4 pulls up, and my friend jumps out of my car and waves a $5 bill at them trying to race. they comment on "just a GT" and agree. we pull out on the road and he bltches out of running for a nickel bill but will still run. from a 40 roll i put about 4-5 car lengths on him by 120. then he asks to go from a dig and said he missed a gear, so we stop at a green light (3am, remember?) and i honk 3 times and we take off. i pulled over a car length in the first 60', and had 6 cars on him by 110 where i just put a thumbs up out the window and kept going home. the race was a joke. of course i ran a 13 flat with that same setup a month later, so i had a distinct advantage lol.
btw, cavabalts are indeed homo-erotic

I thought SRT-4's are 240 BHP. That means that they would put down around 200-210 FWHP assuming a 15% drivetrain loss.
If a stock GT would race a stock SRT-4 from a dig which will hardly ever happen, the GT would rape it. 4cylinder front wheel drivers are pussies and wont race from a stop cause they have no torque and cant launch hard cause they will spin the little wheels off.
No front wheel drive car will race me from a stop cause all they have to do is look at my nitrous pressure gauge and big 10.5" slicks out back.

the 1973 and 1974 mustang shared no parts...but theyre still all mustangs...
nothing was stopping this new slug from being called the cavalier, shy of the fact that GM is grasping ANYTHING that might keep them out of bankruptcy court...and trying to shed the "cavaliers are girls cars" image was one move..too bad it didnt work.

yeah they are pretty rare around here too as well as the Cobalt SS. i did happen to meet up to one on the highway thursday and lets just say it wasn't good for him. but i happen to like these cars so it is what it is.
As for Cavalier and Cobalts who cares what there called it's a $22,000 car that handles like a Vette, brakes like a Vette and runs low 14's @ 99mph bone stock. Throw $650 at it for Stage 2 and you know have a $21,650 that runs mid 13's @ 104mph + and still gets 28MPG cruising at 70mph and has 100% of it's warranty intact.
Anyone can argue a SRT-4 will be faster for less mony but all of the money in the world won't change the fact that it's still a Dodge Neon and has four doors.
The only thing I hate is the FWD launches...............

geez guys i didnt want to turn this into a war....we all know that an Srt4 or the cobalt can be made fast with money as is the case with any car, but at the end of the day the SRT4 is still a neon and the Cobalt is still a warmed over cavy (although i would take one ANY DAY over an SRT4) Heres the way i look at it, i got my car for 16,500, its a Mustang which is a car rich in history and nostalga. It has a V8 engine that when modded can be made insanely fast with the right amount of $ and kno how. Plus the girls love it! On the other hand the dude i raced i went to HS with. He got the car used for 18K. No matter how u cut it its always going to be a Neon and its always going to be 4 cylinders short of a real engine. (there i said it 4cyls are kitty cars and i kno u can make them fast bla bla bla but put that same $$ into a V8 and its game over) . And the kid cant get laid to save his life. Just my .02
i actually enjoyed driving the cobalt ss, it was very fun and responsive. it was 23k bucks for a 14 sec car, but mustangs where the same price when they were brand new also. but i dont consider the cobalt ss as a girl car though

In 2005 the base Mustang GT Deluxe was around $25, in 2004 a GT Deluxe was around $24. If you find a Cobalt SS/SC that hasn't been dealer whored with options the MSRP is $22,000.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH ... omg i gotta stop , that was too funny
Cobalts are so gay and so slow. they run high to mid 14s on a good day. A saturn redline would roll ur cavabolt up and smoke it. ur cr is nothing like a vette except that they came from the same manufacturer.
did u also say ur car will beat mine ???? i challenge you. turn up the boost or something , because i SMOKE cavabolt ss's all day
