?01 SVT vs 97 T/A LT1

Hey everyone, I unfortunetly can't say I am in the SVT crowd yet, but this summer it is my single goal to get an 01 SVT, and already there is a guy talking smack about how his 97 LT1 walks all over cobras with just a aftermarket throttle boddy and air filter. Just wanted to ask all you guys if there is even any remote spec of truth in this guy, or would a 01 cobra with a cold air kit make him eat his words? Thanks for the info guys!

it's a drivers race. Since hes had his car for awhile, hell prolly have the upper hand over you. The cobra is faster as far as car vs car though.

Thanks guys lol I plan to. Yeah he does have the experience with his car over me. I luckily have some experience from driving my 2000 GT for about two years. Can't wait to get the SVT though.

Good question, I was just learning about how VTEC works about 4 or 5 months ago. I don't completely understand it myself. but Hondaswap.com is a GREAT source of Honda info.

The times & 0-60 for that 97 LT1 Firebird are wrong, those would be LS1 magazine times.

A 97 wont run anywhere near a 13.5 stock. I raced a LT1 with only flows and K&N, and after he got a terrible jump on me (wake up, your asleep at the wheel) I still pulled on him in every gear.

If you cant beat a near stock 97 T/A with a near stock cobra (99+) your doing something wrong.
