I guess those are decent times for a first timer. But most 5spd 99-04 GT's can run low 14's stock, so keep practicing and you'll be there.

Dude those aren't bad time for a beginner! I was told by a guy that has been racing for years that on the first run I would be .5 a second or MORE slower than what my car can run. It's true from what I have seen. Also what were the 60 ft. times? If you can shave a tenth off then its almost worth double on the 1/4 mile time.

my 60' was 2.278 It is bone stock with street tires, I didn't think the time was that bad.
my reaction time was .224

With that 60ft you should be mid 14s at like 96 or 97. Where are you?

just get tires. contrary to popular MF belief, 60' isnt everything. i figured that out when i broke the tires loose at 55 mhp at one track. i pulled a 2.1 60' tho....

60ft time is everything unless you are spraying at 330ft. If you get a 2.1, 2.0 you will run a 14.1 @ 97-98mph. Get your 60ft time down and you will get that low 14.

Keep practicing. Your car has atleast a 99-101mph trap speed stock. It takes a hell of a driver to get that stock, but it sounds like you are on the way to being one.
