I'm kinda partial to 15" rims on the 65-66 Mustangs as well.

Yeah, 67 and up classics seem to have a wider choice of wheels that look classy on them. But the 65 and 66 bodies, IMO, don't look good with the big shiny wheels. It simply takes away from the beauty of the classic design.

I am starting to agree. I have Craiger S/S on my 65. They are mint, and I dig them, but sometimes I feel like its too much chrome. I am considering changing to something more reserved/original style.

+1

everyone puts them on every muscle car. they look good as long as you keep em small. i think i'm still going to go with them although, the magnum 500's are starting to grow on me!

The early Mustang styled steel wheel might be the best factory wheel ever done, but us 6-bangers don't have that choice (w/o brake and rear-end swaps). I'll keep my 66 wire wheel hubcaps for now.

(I agree, Torq Thrust best aftermarket for mustang, CragarSS best chrome wheel for all other classics.)

I have a set of Magnum 500 14" on my 67. when I upgrade to disc brakes I'll need 15" Would 15X7 be too big? I'll have some Magnum 500 14" for sale soon if anyone is interested.

I like Mag 500's and I was gonna get Torq Thrusts until I saw how many people have them. The Hopsters arent bad either but that's for the later 60's stangs

Just about all Mustang vendors carry the Mag 500's. For a few........Mustangsunlimited, NPD, Larry's, Auto Karafer's, etc. etc. They all charge about the same. Around 125 each.

What's the best? Personally I love the 15" American Racing 052 mags I have on my 67. Its a personal matter of taste, but the real test is this: does it rub? I see a lot of classic stangs down here in Houston that the owners either drive 3 miles per hour so they don't hit the quarter panels or drive around with trashed out tires dues to severe rubbing issues.

As for myself, I'm not too fond of the original wheels. I still have mine, but I don't run 'em. I don't think the original designers were idiots, but I do think they were limited by the times.
